Chapter 464: Rock Climbing
Finding Ino in the village was not easy. In the end, Sasuke had to activate his Sharingan to spot Ino on the cliff face of the back mountain.
Sasuke "hmphed." In his heart, he had seen through the nature of this queen of grinders.
Heh, this duplicitous woman. On the surface, she's killing rabbits to make money, lulling everyone into a false sense of security. But in reality, she's secretly out-grinding us behind our backs! Good thing I found out.
Ino had seen him from a distance but paid him no mind.
Sage Mode and the intermediate Sage Body had both rapidly improved Ino's physical condition.
With the improvement of her physical condition came a minor, yet not insignificant, hidden danger: her control over her body had decreased.
A ninja's body is no different from a precision machine. It requires a large amount of long-term training to maintain the body's control at its optimal state. If you don't train for ten days or half a month, your body control will decline.
Similarly, a sudden surge in physical fitness will also create many flaws in how you exert force, run, and so on. They may seem insignificant, but when they accumulate, they can be fatal in front of some Kage-level experts.
Why did the reanimated Madara "dance" with the Allied Shinobi Forces one by one, being that "dance king"? At that time, his Rinnegan was still with Obito, but through Kabuto's "special settings," he could use some of the Rinnegan's abilities. He definitely couldn't use his unique dōjutsu, Limbo, but the basic Rinnegan abilities like Almighty Push and Universal Pull should have been usable.
But he didn't use the Rinnegan's abilities, choosing instead to fight in close combat.
It was to test the limits of his reanimated body, to re-master the techniques of exerting force through battles with those "grunt ninjas," to adapt to this brand-new body.
Ino was the same. Originally, her body control had reached a near-perfect state. Now, the intermediate Sage Body was improving her physical fitness every day, so she naturally needed to retrain.
This was also why she hadn't rashly added points to "Tai" and "Riki." The body was different from the brain. When the brain understands, it understands. The body is a very precise machine; every small change will cause a chain reaction. Too frequent changes will create a huge obstacle to control.
Every new improvement required training to regain control of the body.
Running hundreds of laps and doing tens of thousands of push-ups like Might Guy was too exhausting and didn't look good.
When Sasuke came looking for her, Ino was practicing one-handed rock climbing on the peak of the back mountain of Konoha Village.
She had Hinata hug her neck, carrying the weight of one person, without using chakra, without using Sage Mode, completely using her physical strength to climb up, her face covered in sweat.
It was very tiring. This one-handed rock climbing tested not only arm strength but also the coordination between hands, eyes, and body.
And she wanted to turn this ability into a bodily instinct, which required using her brain as little as possible to control it, instead using her body to control her body.
To divert her attention from the rock climbing, she shouted out with great social confidence, "I want to be with Hinata forever!"
Her voice echoed around the mountain peaks.
Hinata's face turned beet red.
On the other side, Sasuke had come over with great momentum. To prepare for this battle, he had been constantly adjusting his mental state through his steps, his three-tomoe Sharingan ready to enter the Mangekyō state at any moment.
But Ino's sudden shout nearly made him trip and fall.
His own momentum plummeted. The styles of the two were completely different. Suddenly, he felt that the wind today was particularly boisterous. He had originally come from the east, but at the foot of the mountain, he didn't stop at all, his expression numb as he walked off to the west.
"Ino... Sasuke-kun seems to be looking for you?" Hinata quietly reminded her.
One-handed rock climbing was still extremely strenuous for Ino. She found a hollow, temporarily steadied herself, and glanced down. "I don't think so? This place isn't ours. He's probably just passing by."
She didn't take it seriously at all and continued to climb up with Hinata.
Sasuke, who had walked several hundred meters away, came to his senses. He also found it strange. I have nothing to feel guilty about, why was I running?Go back! Challenge her!
Sasuke still didn't go back directly. His momentum was gone. Also, to prevent any more "startling words" from Ino's side, he recalled the chilling killing intent of the battlefield to reignite his fighting spirit.
Half an hour later, he came back again.
Seeing from a distance that Ino and Hinata had already come down from the cliff, he strode forward.
"You...!"
He turned a corner, and his view opened up. From his angle, he saw Ino picking at Hinata's foot. The words that were on the tip of his tongue were swallowed back down again.
What are they doing? Is it a bit inappropriate for me to go over now? Maybe I should come back later?
He turned one hundred and eighty degrees on the spot and strolled away as if he were just passing by unintentionally. He walked off into the distance again.
Hinata was injured.
When climbing a "厂"-shaped rock, Ino, the rock climber, was completely fine. She leaped lightly, grabbed a protrusion on the rock with one hand, used her waist and legs to flip herself up. But Hinata, the tool person, was very nervous. She stepped on a sharp rock protrusion and ended up injuring herself.
The bleeding wouldn't stop, so the two quickly came down.
"Really, I was training my body, so I didn't use chakra, but you could have! You little dummy!" Ino said, chiding her affectionately as she cleaned Hinata's wound.
Hinata blushed. She had been too nervous before and had indeed forgotten to use chakra.
Seeing her fidgeting, Ino patted her. "Don't move. With my medical skills, this small wound will be healed in no time. Mmm... let me help you clean the dead skin on the bottom of your feet while I'm at it."
A green light emanated from Ino's palm. She used the Mystical Palm Technique to accelerate cell healing while also cleaning the dead skin and scars on the bottom of her feet.
A ninja is not a mage who sits gracefully in a room reading books and drinking tea, but a profession that requires constant tempering of the body. The training intensity of a female ninja is no less than that of a male ninja, not to mention someone like Hinata who had been training in taijutsu since she was three. Her body was full of hidden injuries.
Chubby, delicate, fair feet were impossible. The knees, the soles of the feet—these places all had a large number of hidden injuries. Normally, with chakra flowing through the pathways, you couldn't see them. But once you get old, all the problems would surface.
Just look at Utatane Koharu. She was once the village beauty. Now that her chakra had greatly diminished, look at how ugly she had become. While Ino was giving Hinata a "pedicure," Sasuke, in the distance, strolled around and came back again. He couldn't let it go! If he didn't fight today, he wouldn't be able to eat.
Hinata's foot injury was already healed. Seeing Sasuke walking over with great momentum, she gave Ino a push, then put on her shoes, bowed like a well-bred young lady, and called out, "Sasuke-kun."
