"Honey, I'm near Fuchsia City right now."
Green had almost recovered by now. At the very least, the unpleasant memories had been temporarily forgotten.
"Near Fuchsia City? I figured you'd be somewhere around there."
"Well, the major battle with Team Rocket is drawing closer. I suggest you go to Celadon City to train properly, then head directly to Saffron City to meet up with me when the battle begins."
Eddie was now giving instructions to Green. Although Eddie knew that Green might make the same arrangements even if he didn't mention it, it was better for him to say something just in case.
After all, aside from the general plot, the relationships between various characters were somewhat complicated. He didn't know if Green was thinking along the same lines right now. Regardless, giving clear instructions was always the right approach.
"Yeah, I had the exact same idea earlier. My dear and I really are perfectly matched—we think alike."
"After the battle with Team Rocket, honey, do you want to do with me what we did at sea?"
Hearing Green's seductive words, even though Eddie couldn't see her at the moment, he could imagine that she must have an alluring expression on her face, attempting to entice him.
"We'll... talk about that later."
"Okay! It's a promise then!"
Eddie felt a spark of excitement upon hearing this, but this wasn't the time for such banter—he still had important matters to discuss with Green.
However, Green was now pressing her advantage. Even though she felt she wasn't ready for anything more intimate with Eddie, aside from that deeper matter, there were still plenty of things they could do together.
"Ahem, let's stop talking about this. It's getting late now. Let me finish my business so you can get to bed early."
"Yes, it is getting late. It's such a shame that my dear isn't by my side. I can't do the things I love to do."
"...Could you please stop this? Are you deliberately trying to make me feel uncomfortable tonight?"
"Hehe! I mean this sincerely, though!"
Upon hearing this, Eddie took a deep breath to calm himself down.
This girl must have learned some kind of charm technique. Her every movement and every word could stir people's emotions. She was far too alluring—simply born with natural charm. Her every expression could captivate anyone.
If Eddie didn't know Green's true situation, he might think she'd seduced countless men before.
"Green, although this might make you uncomfortable, please listen carefully."
After Eddie calmed down, he decided not to indulge Green's teasing anymore. Now he spoke directly and seriously.
"...Dear, there's no need to play the villain like this. Green, I know what you want to say."
When Green heard Eddie's rather serious tone, being as perceptive as she was, she'd actually already guessed what he wanted to discuss.
"At the last moment before I left Seafoam Islands, I saw someone fighting Articuno. I assume Articuno has been captured by Team Rocket."
"When we fight Team Rocket, they'll definitely deploy the three Legendary birds..."
When Green said this, her avian phobia had actually begun to flare up, but she forced herself to remain strong. Thinking about not letting Eddie continue worrying about her, she spoke in a firm tone.
"During my upcoming training, I'll try to overcome this nightmare that troubles me. Don't worry—when we fight Team Rocket, I should be able to see the three Legendary birds without collapsing."
Just not collapsing—Green didn't know what else might happen beyond that. This was the absolute limit of what she could manage at this stage.
After all, time was running short, and it was incredibly difficult for her to both refine her skills and overcome her phobia simultaneously.
"Green, I believe in you. You can do this. Keep going."
After hearing this, Eddie remained silent for several seconds, then encouraged Green in a gentle tone.
He knew that Green had always been a remarkably strong person. Even with a past she couldn't bear to look back on, she could still move forward step by step.
In the original Gold and Silver story arcs, she had already overcome her bird phobia and gained recognition from the three Legendary birds, allowing them to temporarily follow her.
Although this wasn't exactly like the manga, Green remained a strong person here as well. Overcoming her avian phobia early was actually a positive development.
"My dear, I'll have to face this kind of thing eventually anyway. Thanks to you for reminding me about this earlier. Otherwise, I might have continued being tortured by this phobia in the future."
Green spoke in an unusually gentle tone at this moment. Regardless of her relationship with Eddie, she was genuinely grateful to him for bringing this up now.
"Well, you've been through a lot today. Find a suitable place to rest soon."
"Let's meet up in Saffron City later."
After saying goodbye to Green, Eddie ended the call.
"Green, what a wonderful woman."
Eddie reflected on everything that had happened between him and Green, as well as what he knew about her, and couldn't help but say these words aloud.
In truth, Green already held a place in his heart, but he'd been too driven before. The pressure from Team Rocket had been pushing him constantly to become stronger.
It was still the same even now, but now he had the ability to protect himself, so he found himself contemplating his relationships with everyone.
"Ash and Gary—these two are my comrades, the kind I can trust to watch my back, but I'm now stronger than them."
"Before my rebirth, I wanted to befriend them simply to be able to rely on them for certain things, but in this life, I've already become friends with them, yet I'm stronger than both of them. This is somewhat ironic."
Eddie thought about this slightly absurd situation and wanted to laugh.
"Yellow—we've only met once, and that was for a mission. I don't know if that little girl still remembers me now."
Eddie recalled that he'd gone to Viridian City partly for a mission reward, and partly to befriend one of the Pokédex holders and connect with Yellow. It was quite amusing to think about now.
"Misty, Erika, Green, and Sabrina—they all have feelings for me. Misty even took my virginity."
"I don't know how these beautiful women came to like me. Except for Sabrina, I don't think I've ever actively pursued any other girls."
"As for Daisy, well... in order to avoid being pinned to the ground and beaten by Professor Oak himself, I'd better not get involved with her."
Eddie thought of these various beautiful women and couldn't help but feel secretly pleased. Although he genuinely didn't understand why these women liked him, as a man, why should he overthink it?
Just enjoy it. Even Misty, who'd taken his virginity, had said she didn't mind how many women he had—he could accept them all.
"I seem to be still quite young. I can definitely wait until Yellow and Sapphire grow up."
Eddie suddenly remembered his age and realized he seemed to have some prospects ahead, and he couldn't help but chuckle.
Although he didn't force anything or actively pursue these situations, if a girl liked him, why would he refuse?
Men were all like this—the difference was that some weren't capable of having multiple women, while others could manage everything properly.
As for Eddie, he was the capable type.
