Ding! You defeated two illegal substitute gyms! Obtained Gardevoirite, Blastoisinite, and Twisted Spoon!

After thoroughly defeating the large group of opposing Pokemon, Eddie's team had reaped significant rewards from their participation in the battle.

Naturally, Snorlax and Garchomp—already at gym leader level—found this amount of experience insufficient for advancement. However, Eevee, Pikachu, and Gengar, who had been approaching gym leader level, finally broke through to reach that coveted tier.

Gardevoir gained the most levels due to starting at the lowest level among active participants. Since it had directly engaged in combat, it benefited substantially compared to Blastoise and Venusaur, who received shared experience through the Exp. Share item.

The Exp. Share's mechanics granted 100% experience to Pokemon who actively participated in battle, while all Pokemon in the party received 80% of the total experience gained. During early stages this difference seemed minimal, but at higher levels, that 20% gap represented a significant amount.

"I thought this would be simple stress relief, but I didn't expect actual rewards. Not bad at all," Eddie mused with satisfaction. "Two Mega Evolution stones and an item that boosts Psychic-type move power—quite valuable. Now Blastoise won't bother me about evolution anymore."

Eddie felt genuinely pleased with the outcome. He had originally planned this confrontation purely for personal satisfaction, feeling annoyed by these troublemakers and wanting to teach them a lesson.

Unlike organized criminal groups like Team Rocket, which at least operated with clear goals and competent leadership, these pathetic wannabe gym leaders were both weak and purposeless. They caused chaos purely for profit, terrorizing innocent citizens in the process.

Eddie had found them irritating from every angle. Even while watching the anime, he had wanted to personally deal with them.

In fact, before Eddie's rebirth into this world, he had actually visited this location hoping to confront these troublemakers. However, according to townspeople's descriptions, someone wearing a red hat and traveling with a Pikachu had already resolved the situation before his arrival.

This was obviously Ash who had dealt with the group ahead of Eddie's timeline, leaving him no choice but to shrug and leave disappointed.

This time, Eddie had originally thought Ash might have already handled the problem, but he'd come anyway with mild hope. Since Dark City was along his route, checking the situation cost nothing.

"An unexpected bonus. Now all Pokemon on my primary and secondary teams that can Mega Evolve have access to their stones. The others don't require Mega Evolution anyway," Eddie observed while watching townspeople bind the defeated gym members.

This encounter had not only satisfied his desire to punish these troublemakers but also provided valuable rewards. The battle had been both physically and mentally satisfying.

"Wee-ooo! Wee-ooo!" sirens suddenly wailed across the town.

Eddie and the townspeople looked toward the sound's source, spotting a convoy of twenty clearly official League vehicles approaching Dark City. Several prison transport trucks followed behind them, suggesting thorough preparation.

Eddie felt no dissatisfaction with these League officials' timing, since he had originally planned to handle the situation personally anyway. Their arrival after his victory was actually impressive speed, considering the distance from Fuchsia City.

"Hello, I'm the head of Fuchsia City's League branch. Are you Mr. Morning Sun?" asked a man who was clearly the group's leader as he approached Eddie.

The scene's circumstances were unmistakably clear. Apart from Eddie, every trainer present was bound and defeated. Even the least observant person would know who to address.

"Yes, I'm Morning Sun. You can take these individuals into custody. The entire Dark City population can testify and provide evidence of their crimes," Eddie replied with a nod, gesturing toward the bound troublemakers while subtly prompting the townspeople about their role.

"Yes! Yes! I can testify! These criminals engaged in illegal assembly, destroyed public property..." one resident began immediately.

"You're finally here! Please take these people away quickly!" another pleaded.

"I thought our Dark City was finished until you arrived!" a third exclaimed with relief.

"Thanks to this hero, otherwise we would have..." someone else added gratefully.

The townspeople instantly understood Eddie's suggestion and swarmed the League officials with testimony and complaints.

"Wait, wait! Please, let's have ten representatives speak for everyone..." the leader requested diplomatically.

"Everyone, please help load these prisoners into the transport vehicles. We'll need some townspeople to return with us for official statements..." he continued organizing the situation.

The leader showed no annoyance despite being surrounded by excited residents, simply beginning to coordinate the necessary procedures. His competent handling suggested he was skilled at managing such situations.

"Well, I should be going too. My next destination is confirmed," Eddie announced, observing the busy townspeople and League officials.

He recalled all his Pokemon and prepared to leave immediately. Eddie had no intention of staying for paperwork and statements—his time was too valuable for such bureaucratic tedium.

He preferred to depart quietly, hiding his achievements and fame.

However, Eddie didn't realize that while he viewed his actions as simply beating up people he disliked, the Dark City townspeople saw his intervention very differently.

"Wait! Hero! That hero! Thank you!" someone suddenly shouted.

"Don't leave! Our entire town needs to properly repay you!" another called out desperately.

"Yes! Stay for a celebration feast!" a third urged.

"Hero! At least tell us your name!" someone pleaded.

Indeed, while complaining to League officials, the townspeople hadn't forgotten about Eddie. Several had been watching their savior continuously.

Seeing Eddie attempt to leave triggered immediate panic among the grateful residents. They all wanted to detain him, at minimum for a proper celebration banquet.

Eddie heard their calls and, while touched by their gratitude, had his own schedule to maintain. Rather than responding to their pleas, he simply waved goodbye and walked toward Dark City's exit.

However, he underestimated the townspeople's enthusiasm. Seeing Eddie ignore their requests, they rushed toward him en masse, determined to express their appreciation properly.

Eddie had experience with large crowds, but hundreds of people charging directly at him required decisive action. He immediately released Garchomp again, mounted his Dragon-type partner, and took flight, departing Dark City from above.
