"Meowth, it's time! Turn on the device!"
Jessie commanded her Hitmonlee to leap into the air, simultaneously ordering Meowth to activate their contraption.
Meowth quickly turned on the device as Hitmonlee jumped up, but the mechanism had already been severed by Eevee and brought down to the ground.
The ring remained motionless, with Lucario still standing firmly upon it.
"It seems the time has come, Lucario. Use Focus Blast to finish this."
Eddie noticed Meowth had emerged from hiding and saw Hitmonlee airborne. He directly ordered Lucario to end the battle.
Lucario breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing the command. It was obvious the fight could have been concluded with a single blow much earlier, but it had to perform until now. The Fighting-type Pokemon felt somewhat weary from the prolonged charade.
Gathering all its energy, Lucario fired a powerful Focus Blast at the airborne Hitmonlee.
With a thunderous impact, Hitmonlee fainted instantly without even managing a single cry.
At that moment, Jolteon hurled the disabled device directly at Meowth.
"Huh? Why didn't the device activate? I clearly pressed the button... Hey? Why is the device in my hand?"
Meowth stared in confusion at the device Jolteon had thrown into its paws, unable to process what had just occurred.
"Jolteon, use Thunderbolt!"
Eddie delivered this command while turning to walk off the stage.
After all, a true trainer never looks back at the explosion, right?
"Ahhhhh!!! What a disgusting feeling!!" the trio cried in unison.
As Team Rocket's infamous trio was blasted into the sky once again, combined with Eddie's current demeanor, it created quite the dramatic scene.
Ding! You have completed the hidden quest. The reward is the Technical Machine for Focus Punch!
Eddie had now claimed victory in the championship, and his task reward had arrived promptly.
"Just one reward? That's quite rare, but this move happens to be the most powerful technique in the Fighting-type category, which isn't bad at all."
Eddie had initially assumed such a straightforward task wouldn't yield substantial rewards.
However, this Focus Punch TM proved quite valuable, being the strongest skill available to Fighting-type Pokemon.
"Moreover, this move can be learned by nearly all Pokemon with fists, making it an excellent technique to have."
Eddie felt satisfied with the outcome. The most powerful Fighting-type skill that most Pokemon could master was indeed wonderful.
But as Eddie exited the Fighting competition hall, he discovered dusk was approaching and night was nearly upon them.
"After completing two tasks, it's already nighttime? I should head back then."
Eddie began walking back toward Erika's house.
Upon returning to Erika's residence, he found that Erika was still busy with her duties outside. It appeared she would remain occupied until evening.
"Things are becoming complicated, but regardless, we can have our gym battle tomorrow."
Eddie settled into the reclining chair as he had the previous night, watching his Pokemon enjoying their delicious meals and playing together.
"Let me review what I've accomplished today."
Eddie opened his task log to examine his gains after such a busy day.
First, there was information about a rare Grass-type Pokemon, a Pokemon Egg, and the Focus Punch Technical Machine.
"By the way, I must include Eevee in these gains as well."
"While these rewards might not seem extensive, they're all genuinely valuable items."
He could inquire with Erika about the rare Grass-type Pokemon information tomorrow. Any Pokemon Erika recommended would surely be exceptional.
As for the Pokemon Egg, the wealthy gentleman had been so mysterious about it, guaranteeing Eddie would appreciate it, so it should contain a Pokemon that suited him perfectly.
Of course, if it truly didn't match his needs... well, he'd cross that bridge when he came to it.
There was also this Focus Punch Technical Machine, which was an excellent skill he could utilize immediately.
Eddie nodded, reflecting that today's harvest had actually been quite good, and he chuckled several times.
For instance, encountering Team Rocket's trio and subsequently blasting them into the sky had been particularly satisfying.
It really had been a pleasant day, hadn't it?
"Alright, let's help my little darling break through its potential first."
"Eevee~~"
Eddie gently held Eevee and presented the Gold Bottle Cap to it.

Eddie only had two Gold Bottle Caps remaining, but this item didn't concern him greatly. He would acquire more as long as he continued completing tasks.
"Next comes the Technical Machine training. Eevee, are you prepared?"
Eddie planned to use numerous Technical Machines on Eevee, and during this process, Eevee would need to transform into various evolutionary forms.
After all, the skills it could learn in each form differed significantly from its base state.
"Eevee!"
Eevee raised its tiny paw very adorably, indicating it had no concerns whatsoever.
"Then let's begin! I'll have the other Pokemon learn Focus Punch first, then it's your turn!"
Eddie gathered a collection of Technical Machines and immediately began using them on his Pokemon team.
Ding! Charizard, Sceptile, Lucario, Gengar, and Snorlax have learned Focus Punch!
Ding! Eevee has learned Protect, Iron Tail, Hyper Beam, Water Pulse, Hydro Pump, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Fire Blast, Dark Pulse, Giga Drain, and Solar Beam!
"Hmm, why does it feel like Eevee hasn't learned as many moves as Snorlax? Could it be that Pokemon without fists can't learn as many Fighting-type skills?"
Eddie was joking at this point, but he felt genuinely satisfied with the results.
Compared to Snorlax, Eevee simply lacked some Fighting-type techniques.
Besides, Snorlax's typing was Normal. While using moves of other types could surprise opponents, the power couldn't be boosted by Same Type Attack Bonus.
So while Snorlax could attack unexpectedly, the actual power of its diverse skills remained mediocre.
If not for its incredible bulk, allowing it to withstand enemy attacks and counter with super-effective moves, this strategy wouldn't be viable.
As for Eevee, this little darling was truly remarkable.
It could evolve and transform at will, becoming whatever type was most suitable against any opponent.
This way, it could not only reduce incoming damage but also gain Same Type Attack Bonus when using its moves, with its Adaptability ability further doubling the damage output.
In other words, Eevee wasn't merely excellent at defense but also extremely powerful in offense.
Its overall comprehensive strength wasn't much inferior to Snorlax.
Of course, if Snorlax, being a Normal-type, were to battle against Eevee, the latter would definitely struggle against the former.
"Eevee's greatest strength lies in its ability to counter opponents through type advantages, but it can't effectively counter Normal-types. Even with Fighting-type moves, it's not quite sufficient."
Eevee's eight evolutionary forms could handle almost any enemy through strategic type matchups.
However, it couldn't effectively deal with Normal-types, since there currently weren't any discovered evolutionary conditions for Fighting-type or Steel-type Eeveelutions that could provide the necessary type advantage.
"But it's more than adequate. For Normal-type opponents, I can simply use Lucario or Tyranitar. Eevee doesn't need to worry about handling every single matchup."
Eddie didn't have many Pokemon that could effectively counter Normal-types, so there was no need to force Eevee into unfavorable battles.
After concluding his preparations, Eddie felt everything was nearly complete, and then he decided to rest for the evening.
