Seeing Eddie's amusing expression, Sabrina found herself caught between anger and laughter.
How dare he mention the last time he had played a trick on her, right here in front of her? The audacity should have infuriated her completely. Yet something about Eddie's ridiculous face made her want to laugh despite herself.
With Eddie, she had developed the same feeling she'd had when they first met - that sense of "you lose if you take this seriously." Even though Eddie wasn't pretending to be stupid this time, that familiar feeling still lingered.
"Ding! Because of your words and actions, Sabrina's favorability towards you has increased, and it is now 'Favorable.'"
Eddie blinked in confusion. "What???"
But Eddie didn't have time to process this surprising news. Sabrina had started speaking again, demanding his full attention.
"Never mind. This is Rainbow City after all, and it wouldn't be appropriate to start a battle here," Sabrina said with a condescending tone, as if she was graciously letting Eddie off the hook because of Erika's presence. Her expression clearly showed she looked down on him.
This was exactly why you should never offend women - even if they can't do anything to you directly, they'll continue using words to make your life difficult.
Hearing this, Eddie temporarily set aside his confusion about the electronic voice. He rolled his eyes at Sabrina and shrugged his shoulders, his body language clearly saying: "Sabrina, if you have something else to say, just say it quickly. Everyone here seems to be busy."
Don't ask how Sabrina could read Eddie's intentions so clearly - his expression was deliberately obvious.
Of course, Sabrina's irritation increased several notches because of Eddie's attitude.
"I received news yesterday that someone reported you appeared in Rainbow City and attacked our Team Rocket operations," Sabrina said, taking a deep breath to calm herself before getting straight to business. She didn't want to waste more words on Eddie, since he always managed to provoke her emotions.
She felt that if this continued, she might actually explode with anger.
"Because the news came in late yesterday evening, we didn't pay much attention to this information initially. However, this morning, our Rainbow City branch completely lost contact."
Sabrina's eyes suddenly turned cold as she stared directly at Eddie.
"I just visited the base, and it appears the Trainer guarding Rainbow City has been completely defeated. Did you, working with your allies, wipe out our Team Rocket branch in Rainbow City?"
"Aren't you asking even though you already know the answer? Do you really need to come and ask me about this kind of thing in person?" Eddie replied with confusion. Was Sabrina seriously asking about something so obvious? Did Team Rocket really have nothing better to do?
"My purpose here is to investigate the situation of our branch, and of course, to retrieve the Eevee that was successful in our experiment," Sabrina explained naturally. This wasn't the kind of task she would normally handle for information gathering. She had actually come to bring back the Eevee.
The Eevee was currently being kept by Erika, and normal people really couldn't take it away from her, so Sabrina had come in person.
But now, the Eevee had been captured by Eddie, and the entire Team Rocket branch plot was connected to him as well.
"After the Pokemon Tower incident, the three of us executives held a joint meeting. Originally, we planned to ask the boss to let all three executives deal with you together."
Hearing this, Eddie frowned, though he wasn't particularly nervous. After all, nothing had happened to him yet, which meant the proposal hadn't been approved, so there was no need to panic.
"But because of the 'Dragon Star' incident, the boss didn't let us proceed with that plan for some reason. Instead, he said our main plan should be accelerated..."
Sabrina paused here. She wouldn't tell him what the plan actually was, although Eddie probably knew already.
"But this time, what you've done is enough to attract the boss's personal attention. You'd better be careful."
Sabrina smiled with apparent satisfaction, as if she could already see Eddie being chased and beaten.
"Miss Sabrina, are you concerned about my safety? Don't worry - with a beauty like you caring about me, I'll definitely live well," Eddie said playfully. He naturally understood the seriousness of the matter, but when he had chosen to wipe out the Team Rocket branch, he had been prepared for the consequences.
Of course, he would only have acted if he was confident in his abilities, so he wasn't panicking now. Instead, he continued to tease Sabrina.
"Bang!"
Just as Eddie finished speaking, a Psycho Cut attack flew toward him.
However, Eddie had remained alert for battle, so he easily dodged the attack.
The attack hit the ground instead, creating a small crater, which made Eddie's eyebrows twitch.
"What did you just say? I didn't hear it clearly. Can you repeat that?" Sabrina asked, looking at Eddie with a completely expressionless face. There wasn't a trace of warmth in her eyes, and her words were colder than ice.
"Ahem, I just said, thank you Miss Sabrina for your reminder. May I ask if Miss Sabrina has anything else to say?" Eddie replied.
Facing Sabrina, who seemed ready to explode, Eddie chose to follow his instincts.
Of course, everyone knew that Eddie definitely wasn't backing down because he couldn't beat Sabrina.
He was just being... respectful! Yes, he was just showing respect to Sabrina. Everyone understood that.
"Hmph! You're being sensible. Live well - I'll take your life myself!" Sabrina said, raising her head proudly as if she felt she had finally won once.
However, she realized the next second that her words sounded somewhat ambiguous, and her face blushed slightly.
But Sabrina wasn't thick-skinned enough to take back the words she had just spoken moments before.
Therefore...
She turned her back to Eddie and used her psychic powers. Her Alakazam immediately teleported her away.
By the way, Sabrina had been floating in the air with Alakazam's help since she had appeared.
So...
Who else here couldn't fly?
"She just ran away like that? Why does Sabrina feel like a tsundere girl now?" Eddie wondered, watching Sabrina leave as if she wanted to escape. He narrowed his eyes and thought with a sense of mischief.
To be honest, Sabrina had come to Rainbow City for two tasks: investigating the situation of the branch and retrieving the Eevee.
But these matters had been confirmed after meeting Eddie, and Sabrina naturally knew that everything had been done by him.
In that case, why had she appeared in front of Eddie and told him so many things?
"In the original story, she just watched Ash leave with the Eevee and departed directly after confirming the situation. Why did she show up here to talk to me?"
Eddie had always been very cautious about Team Rocket, so he would always think about their intentions.
But this time, no matter how hard he thought, he couldn't figure out why Sabrina had appeared in front of him and told Eddie so many things.
Even if she was thinking about Eddie's previous trick on her, there was no need to do such seemingly useless work.
After all, she hadn't gained any information or actual benefits after talking to Eddie so much, and she had specifically told Eddie that he had been targeted.
"Could it be that she really just wanted to tell me that I had been targeted?" Eddie said this in a joking tone. After all, this was Sabrina - a cold and beautiful woman with extremely controlled emotions.
Eddie wouldn't be so narcissistic as to think that Sabrina would like him. He was very self-aware about that.
However, Eddie now remembered the electronic sound about Sabrina's improved favorability toward him, and the words Sabrina had said before she left.
"No way... is she really concerned about me?"
