Charmeleon and Eddie shared a strong bond of tacit understanding. Eddie didn't need to specify the target—Charmeleon instinctively knew his intentions.
It quickly gathered energy in its mouth, preparing to deliver a fiery greeting to the two Team Rocket members who had just shouted at it.
"What! You dare to attack us? Nidorino, protect me!"
The Rocket members were caught off guard. They hadn't expected Eddie to strike without warning.
The Rocket member who had been shouting and walking in front quickly threw out a Poké Ball, summoning a Nidorino to stand before him.
By this time, Charmeleon's [Fire Blast] had gathered enough energy and rushed toward the enemy.
"This move is a bit slow, needs more practice later, but these small fry are no match for it."
Eddie deliberately used the slower [Fire Blast]. Though he had just used [Flamethrower] a moment ago, he suspected the Rocket member wouldn't have had the chance to throw out a Poké Ball in time.
However, Eddie wasn't interested in dragging things out. Since he was ready to go all out, he intended to defeat the opponent's Pokémon and earn the experience and rewards.
The [Fire Blast] was not only powerful, but the charge time was just enough for the opponent to release their Pokémon. With no chance to dodge, the Rocket member's Pokémon could only try to block it. If not for the Rocket team members standing behind, Nidorino would have been in trouble.
"Nido!!"
The fiery blast struck Nidorino directly. With a painful cry, the Pokémon fell to the ground.
Nidorino: "I got up, one move, one second, what can I say..."
"Ding! Charmeleon gained experience! Charmeleon leveled up! Reached Lv17!"
"Ding! You defeated the Rocket Team members! Earned 1000 Pokedollars, and a skill machine [Aerial Ace]!"
As the system prompt rang out, Eddie raised an eyebrow in surprise. He hadn't expected to receive a skill machine from defeating such a weak opponent.
"Even defeating a junior trainer can lead to rewards like this?"
Eddie took out the skill machine [Aerial Ace], which was a Flying-type move. Both Charmeleon and Froakie could learn it.
[Aerial Ace]: Power 60, Flying-type move, uses quick movements to confuse the opponent before delivering a precise strike. The attack never misses.
"Damn, you dare to underestimate me!"
Eddie was still examining the skill machine, paying no attention to the Rocket members' angry shouts. He was fuming, completely unbothered.
"I was just reporting, and you lost this quickly? This kid's not simple. I'll handle him."
Another member, who had been reporting earlier, rushed over. He threw out a Poké Ball, ready to fight.
"Come out, Machop! Use [Karate Chop]!"
Machop, a human-like Fighting-type, appeared and, without hesitation, raised its fists to strike.
"A Fighting-type Machop, huh? Haha! Froakie, let's finish this."
Eddie couldn't help but smile when he saw the opponent send out a Fighting-type Pokémon. He had just received a Flying-type skill machine, and now the opponent's Pokémon was a perfect target for Froakie to practice with.
"Ding! Froakie learned [Aerial Ace]!"
"Quack!"
Froakie rushed at Machop as soon as the skill was learned, moving at incredible speed.
Just as the description of [Aerial Ace] promised, Froakie approached Machop with dazzling agility. With a simple sidestep, Froakie evaded Machop's attack.
Using the momentum, Froakie quickly moved behind Machop. Gathering energy in its hands, it delivered a sharp slash to Machop's back.
"Hey, tsk!"
Machop screamed in pain. The Flying-type move [Aerial Ace] dealt significant damage, but it wasn't enough to knock it out in one hit.
Embarrassed, Machop quickly turned around and resumed facing Froakie.
"Machop, grab it! [Seismic Toss]!"
The Rocket Team member refused to give up, ordering Machop to attack again.
Machop charged at Froakie once more, this time extending its arms, clearly trying to grab Froakie.
"Are you stupid? Didn't you see Froakie's speed? And you still want to fight it up close?"
Eddie could only shake his head, giving the two Rocket members a disdainful look. Those who hadn't learned their lesson deserved to remain pathetic forever.
Eddie didn't even need to give further orders. Froakie knew exactly how to handle it.
"kie!"
Froakie let out a dismissive Growl and remained perfectly still, unimpressed by Machop's approach, calmly waiting for it to get closer.
As Machop reached out to grab Froakie, the little Pokémon took a single light step back, then leaped over Machop with a perfect somersault, landing behind it once again.
"Oh no! Machop, get out of the way!"
The Rocket member finally realized his mistake, but it was too late. Even though he shouted the command, Machop's body couldn't react fast enough.
Froakie quickly gathered energy in its hands again and delivered another decisive slash to Machop's back.
"Ding! Froakie gained experience! Froakie leveled up to Lv16!"
"Ding! You defeated the Rocket Team members and earned 1000 pokedollars and 3 Great Balls!"
