With the Queen in their company, the staff of the Nocturne Promenade instantly stirred into motion, polishing glassware, straightening linens, and setting aside the finest tables as if royalty demanded nothing less. Eleanora tried to wave them off, insisting she was only there to accompany a friend, but her words held little weight against the awe that followed her presence.
Soon enough, they settled into the grand restaurant within the reception hall. The chandeliers cast a warm golden glow over the long table where Claire and Eleanora sat among a dozen familiar faces.
When the menus arrived, Claire leaned back with a chuckle. "Don't worry about the bill. I'll take care of it; I'm rich now."
Eleanora smirked knowingly, adding, "Yes, really rich."
