Thirty miles northeast of Qinghua City, there's a towering mountain, named Snow Phoenix Mountain because a clan of Snow Phoenix Cold Beasts has long occupied the summit.
The most famous things about Snow Phoenix Mountain, apart from the Snow Phoenix tribe, are the special plants known as Ice Sword Trees.
As their name suggests, Ice Sword Trees have a single straight and erect elliptical trunk like a sword blade, without any branches. Their diameter is usually only three to five meters, but their height can reach an astonishing thousand meters or more. Sunlit during the day, the ice crystals attached to the outer layer emit a layer of cold light, providing a visual effect akin to a longsword piercing the sky, hence their name.
Snow Phoenix Mountain itself is only two hundred meters tall, but because it is covered with Ice Sword Trees, its visual height is forcibly elevated five to six times.
