Reynand blinked at Elara, confused, which only made her laugh.
"She'll keep chasing that promise. You said you would carry her when the sun comes up. Until she gets bored or finds something else to obsess over, she will keep asking."
He kept blinking while swinging Agatha in his arms.
"Well, I could just carry her like this every morning. Doesn't seem like much of a problem," he said with confidence.
"It might seem simple to us, but not to her. To her, this moment is everything. And… the sun doesn't only rise in the morning."
"Mama… mama… I fly… with Fahdel I fly…" Agatha giggled, showing off to Elara.
Elara stepped closer.
"Yes, princess… are you happy now? Then let's get dressed first, alright? Come to mother." She held out her arms.
But the little princess pouted and clung tighter around Reynand's neck.
"No… Fahdel plomise. No…"
"Agatha," Elara said, firm but calm. "You won't get any more mulberry choco cake if you don't come with me."
