Elara could only watch as the prince stepped out of her chamber, then he suddenly stopped and turned back.
"Is there something else you wish to say?" he asked with a low voice.
Her hesitant gaze met his. She curled her fingers tightly until her nails dug into her palm.
"Uhm… Let's talk later, Your Grace. You can't keep the Crown Prince waiting."
Her unsure words earned only a small nod before Prince Reynand disappeared behind the door.
Elara inhaled deeply, then exhaled with relief. As much as she cherished their time together, her heartbeat had never once calmed, her chest felt tight from the relentless fluttering.
Her hand flew to her left side, gently pressing against it. 'I haven't had my herbal tea yet… So why don't I feel pain like usual?'
