"To put it simply, I thought you'd already grasp something this trivial. Seems I expected too much," he said, his tone laced with sarcasm.
Lucian let out a quiet sigh, rolled his eyes, then looked over at him. "Yeah, yeah, sorry I can't live up to your standards," he shot back dryly. "But can you shut up for a minute? I'm trying here."
He turned his attention back to his book and tried repeating what he'd done earlier, but still nothing happened. He attempted to summon a small spark several times, only for it to fade away every single time.
June watched him and frowned. "Good grief… you really are hopeless."
Lucian looked up at him with a blank expression. "If you're not going to help me, could you at least stop mocking me like that? I'm actually trying."
