When she finished the pancakes, Daniel cleared the table and left.
Chantelle thought about calling him back, but didn't know what to say. In the end, she let him go.
Later that evening, Daniel came back with the kids. As they neared her room, he heard someone crying inside.
He paused in front of the door and told the children, "Go rest in your rooms first. We'll visit Mommy tomorrow."
The three children were exhausted after playing all day at Philip's place. Kane and Railer let the butler take them to their rooms.
Stephanie followed them at first, but then ran back and held Daniel's sleeve, asking him to squat down. She whispered softly, "I think Mommy likes Daddy more."
Daniel smiled and gently patted her head.
"Why do you think that?" he asked.
Stephanie tilted her head, unsure how to explain. "Mommy talks to you differently."
Daniel didn't want his daughter to get involved in adult matters. He carried her back to her room.
