Just as he moved, the Giant Flame Beast swung its tail, the burning fireball at the end of the tail like a flail, whipping toward El. A whistling sound echoed, and the fireball trailed a long flame in the air. Focusing only on dodging the flames spewed by the Giant Flame Beast, El did not anticipate that this seemingly clumsy beast would have such tactics. By the time he noticed the tail coming his way, it was already too late.
Shocked, El could only hold his spear horizontally. As black light burst forth, the fireball was already upon him. With a boom, El felt as if he had fallen into a pool of fire. Waves of heat swept over his body continuously, and the protective wind force around him shattered completely from the impact. Flames attacked him, and he felt as if all his hair was being burned; the air he breathed in felt as hot as boiling water, causing his lungs to feel an intense heat.
