A dozen seconds later, the taxi broke down completely on the seaside highway.
"Well, it looks like your dream pursuit ends here," the driver's tone was full of schadenfreude.
"Try again, maybe you'll get it started?" Minamoto Tamako was relentless.
"No trying, it'll damage the car." The driver was stubborn.
"You can't just leave it in the middle of the road, can you?" asked Tamako.
"Why not?" The driver shrugged, "Anyway, you don't even know where you're going, do you?"
"It doesn't matter where I'm going!"
Minamoto Tamako felt annoyed, she believed the driver's air of despair was affecting her. Why did all the salarymen appear so dismal? What did "I can never realize my dreams in this lifetime" mean? It sounded like he was indirectly mocking her!
She suddenly slapped the driver's shoulder and said loudly, "If you want to violate the parking rules, suit yourself, but I'm moving on! Thank you, driver! I will repay your fare someday!"
