"Ugh….. I don't want to go out in any of this…." I muttered as I stepped outside my house under the sweltering sun before I just turned around and went back into my AC cooled house.
"A massive heatwave is hitting all of California, temperatures ranging from 110 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit." I heard from the tv before Pearl changed the channel to one of her shows.
"Glad I don't have to go outside today." Pearl said as she had the tv play one of her soap operas which was a medical drama from what I could tell.
"Man fuck this, today is to hot to go out skateboarding, anyone want to hang out they can come to my place since the AC makes this place feel like heaven." I mutter to myself before sending a group chat message to everyone about what I was going to do today.
So I kicked off my shoes and hopped over the couch to sit next to Pearl before leaning over to the side as I lay my head down on one of the couch pillows.
Now mind you the couch was one of those long L shaped couches, so while I was sitting next to her I wasn't taking up that much space as she had a full section of the couch to herself as well.
Now I didn't really care what she was watching since I was more busy playing on my phone with nothing to do on this extremely hot day.
Though playing with my phone I still didn't really know what the other marks were meant to be from forging that 'contract' with Wen, but maybe there's other species out there that I could make a contract with.
But that seemed more of a hassle to go search for them so I'll just wait and see before thinking about looking for them in the future.
"Hey, get me a popsicle." Pearl said lazily as she kept watching her show.

She began to grumble and mumble but she ultimately got up to get a popsicle, but she didn't get me one as we kept watching the show.

My phone vibrated making me look down and check it, it was Amber asking if she could come over as the AC in her trailer is busted and her place is cooking her like an oven.
So I texted back and said she could come over before putting my phone away as Pearl side eyed me, "Who was that?"
"Amber, her AC is busted and wants to come over to hang out." I said while Pearl clicked her tongue.

After that we stopped talking and watched her reality tv show, but I could care less as I played on my phone, if today wasn't such a scorcher outside I'd have gone out and do something but not in 95 to 100 degree weather.
I saw our pool and it sounded like a good idea but I didn't feel like getting some heavy sunburns just from hanging out in the pool.

About 30 minutes later the doorbell rang as I got up and went to answer it as I opened it not only to see Amber, but Char, Luna, Puck and surprisingly Lily who were all sweating heavily.
