Chapter 57 - Revived

Elijah was walking through the streets of the quarter after getting into another argument with Klaus. Fighting about Kol missing and what he was doing, accusing him of having done something to Jackson. It was starting to wear on him, trying to placate Klaus's every concern and his endless stubbornness.

He also disapproved of Klaus's new fascination with compelling everyone, and his ever-growing hybrid army.

Rebekah's absence was never more pronounced during this time. The world felt increasingly colder without her.

"Well, if it isn't my favorite Original, fancy meeting you here. How's life with the crazy bastard been?" asked Katherine, inside the entrance to a store.

"Katherine," Elijah sighed.

"Oh, what's with the long face? Cheer up Elijah, life's too long not to," said Katherine.

"That's not how that goes," he couldn't help but comment.

"Sure it is. What's the point of being sad all the time if you're going to live forever?" said Katherine with a grin.

"What do you want?" asked Elijah, ignoring her teasing.

"What makes you think I want something? You don't think I planned this little happy accident, do you?" asked Katherine, innocently.

"You should be careful, I'm sure there's at least a hybrid or two following me," said Elijah.

Katherine grinned, "Then you should come inside away from prying eyes."

"So you do want something," said Elijah, entering the store.

Kathrine closed the distance between them, trailing a finger suggestively against him, her voice dropping into a sultry tone, "There is this Gala happening, and I was wondering if you would be so inclined as to take me."

"And who is hosting this Gala?" asked Elijah, stopping her hand.

"Nobody you would know, some rich mortal wanting to show off. Come on Elijah, it's been ages since we had any fun together, won't you take me?" Katherine asked, flirtingly. "You could use the break."

Elijah never could say no to her. "When is it?"

On the Rue Canal, inside Lucien's penthouse, with a high-class interior and a great view of the city.

Alexis stood behind a shirtless, sweaty, helpless Kol, strung up in the center by the Restraining Rod and Chains—an ancient artifact that was crafted by ancient Egyptians from an unknown type of wood, engraved with ancient symbols. Combined, the rod and chains were designed to suppress anything supernatural and were powerful enough to effectively restrain an Original. Lucien Castle collected it among other similar objects to one day use against Niklaus.

Placing her hands on his head, she dug into his mind as he screamed, the process not at all pleasant for the victim.

"Well? Find anything useful?" asked Lucien, walking into the room.

"Oh, yes, very much so. Shouldn't be long now," said Alexis with a satisfied smile, releasing Kol, who slumped in his restraints, unable to hold himself up.

"Good," said Lucien, matching her grin.

Checking his Rolex, he pulled out his phone and made a call while gazing at the moonlit city below.

"Lucien, where have you been?" asked Klaus darkly.

"Spying on our enemies," came the quick reply.

"Have you now?" asked Klaus, unmoved.

"Yes, and I have learned a great deal. I think you'd be particularly interested in a certain event happening tonight, a gala hosted by the Strix at the Davilla Estate with your brother as their main guest, invited by none other than the famous Katherine Petrova," informed Lucien.

A deathly silence took hold as Klaus's anger surged on the other side, clenching his jaw, "If you're lying…"

"We both know I'm not," said Lucien, unbothered by his threats.

"Then prepare whatever forces you have. Tonight we finish this," said Klaus, ending the call.

Lucien grinned, turning to Alexis to gloat, "Tristan will never see it coming with him being this close to the finish line, having no idea we've captured Kol. How I wish I could be there to see the looks on their faces when they're all fighting among themselves."

But he had more important things to do, like watching over his witch, discovering the secrets of the Originals.

Sage awoke with a gasp, clutching her chest.

"Sage!" Finn exclaimed, appearing in the room upon hearing her wake.

"You're awake!" cried Davina, running inside seconds later and jumping at her from behind Finn with open arms.

Sage grinned, accepting them both.

Davina buried her head in her chest, quietly listening to her new heartbeat, making sure this wasn't a dream.

"What happened?" asked Sage, stroking her hair.

"What's the last thing you remember?" Finn asked in return, handing her a blood bag and sitting beside her, arm draped over, squeezing her affectionately.

"I was taking out the rouges, and then… Elijah," said Sage, her hand clutching Davina's head against her chest a little too tightly, causing a yelp.

"Oh, sorry," she quickly apologized

"It's okay," said Davina, settling back down and not taking it to heart, sighing contentedly as Sage went back to stroking her hair.

Finn then filled her in on the rest of what happened when he arrived and who all set it up while she drank.

"Don't worry, we already got Marcel's group. I made sure to take them all out," said Davina, looking up at her for praise.

Sage grinned, "Thanks, you did good," kissing her forehead and putting a smile on her face.

Finn chuckled, using his thumb to wipe away the bloody lip mark Sage made on Davina's head, "Yeah, she did. I captured Marcel to use against Klaus, but you can have him if you want."

Giving it some thought, Sage took out her phone, "I need to make some calls, not everyone was permanently killed, unless you know differently?" She inquired, looking over to him.

"Don't know, I didn't stick around to find out," said Finn.

Going through her contacts, she paused over Troy's name before forcing herself to move on with a silent promise of revenge.

After getting in touch with those she could, she invited all those who were left over for a meeting.

There were even more tears and hugs when they arrived, as she recounted how Finn rescued her and how it took her some time to heal.

Although a few of them fled the city afterwards, many who survived stayed, intending to help and protect Finn for obvious reasons, and reported on everything they knew was going on.

Consuming the information, Sage asked, "You said Lucien hasn't left his penthouse in a while?"

"That's right."

"Then, while Klaus and Elijah play with the Strix, we'll take that disgusting cockroach out of the equation," said Sage, making her decision.

"It won't be easy; he's had a witch place protections on the building, and our witches have abandoned us when they heard you were dead."

"I can help with that," Davina chimed in.

Sage grinned, pulling her over to show off, "As you can see, we still have one, far more powerful than those traitorous worms."

Davina puffed up her chest proudly.

"Then if we're agreed, let's go," said Finn.
