Ficool

Chapter 52 - ...

Standing in the open courtyard of the Abattoir, Lucien grins and says, "Speaking of the devil," as he ends the call.

Kol arrives, narrowing his eyes at him, "Who was that? And where is everyone?"

Lucien smirks, "That was Alexis. She was setting something up for me. As for the others, they left a while ago to wipe out the humans and the witches."

"What!?" Kol exclaimed before collecting himself. "Why wasn't I invited?"

"Maybe he figured you wouldn't want to participate in the death of your friends," Lucien remarked mockingly.

Kol sneered at him and left, deeming him unworthy of further conversation, though his remark did prompt him to check on his witch friends.

Lucien calls Alexis back, "He just left, we'll be there shortly."

Rushing to Lenore's place to warn her of the danger, Kol appears before her front door, flinging it open and enters. "Lenore! We need to talk!" he shouts, not noticing the magical circle on the floor as he steps right into it.

It lights up with a Magenta glow, a vibrant, purplish-red color, creating a powerful suction that pulls him to the ground, causing him to face plant.

Struggling to free himself, he looks up to see Alexis standing off to the right with her left hand out towards him with a similar glow, and behind her was Lenore, tied to a chair and gagged.

"You bitch! I knew we couldn't trust you fuckers," Kol growled, slowly planting his hands below him to push himself back up.

Alexis grinned, "Then you should have prepared better," she said, as her hand's glow intensified, increasing the power to bring him back down again.

"I'm going to rend the flesh from your fucking bones when I get through with you backstabbing fucks," said Kol angrily, once more lifting himself off the ground.

Hearing a chant, they looked over and saw that Lenore had somehow freed herself from her gag.

"I don't think so," said Alexis, swiping her right hand at her, slicing her neck open.

"You Fucking Bitch! I'm going to torture you for decades to come!" shouted Kol. Using his anger to fuel his strength, he managed to plant a foot underneath himself as Alexis began to sweat under the strain of trying to stop him, by pouring even more magic into the circle.

Then Lucien came snapping his neck from behind, "Sorry for the delay, had to answer a call from Tristan. It seems the Slayer is in town, so he's moving the plans up."

"Thinking nothing of it," said Alexis, taking a breath, feeling relieved.

Making it back home, Sage and Davina insisted on helping Finn to the couch, fussing over him when they saw his wounds weren't healing properly.

"I heard she can track you with them," said Sage worriedly, from his right, checking the puncture that went clean through. "Can you do anything about that?" she asked Davina.

"Already done. I've been slowly warding this entire house with each new spell I learn. There's no way she'll find us here," said Davina confidently.

"Then how did she find us on the road? Finn. Do you remember when you first spotted her?" asked Sage.

"No," said Finn, exhausted from the whole ordeal. Leaning his head back as his body did its best to heal.

"Can you help him?" asked Sage, looking at Davina.

"I can try… He is healing, but he's lost a lot of blood," said Davina, with her hands hovering over his wounds.

"I'll call Troy to get some for us," said Sage, pulling out her phone.

"Hmm, it looks to be improving, but I'll see if I can speed it up," said Davina, concentrating.

"Oh, right, your family fought her before, but didn't have any wounds. I bet it doesn't affect Originals the same," said Sage thoughtfully.

"That'd be a good bet," said Troy, walking in with a box, taking in the bloody sight.

"Did you get it?" asked Sage hurriedly.

"Yeah, the blood bags are in here," said Troy, giving them to her.

"What more have you learned?" asked Sage as she handed Finn a bag, knowing Troy would have taken a deeper look into it after discovering the danger.

Troy explains all the basics about how she's as strong as an Original with no weakness and can't die as far as he knows, then hits them with a bit of history, "Don't ask me how I know, but she was created after the Originals wiped out one of the big covens in the past."

"No fucking way! You're telling me Klaus and them took out a big coven? How the fuck did you even learn something like that?" asked Sage in disbelief.

"Like I said, don't worry about it, I have my ways. The point is, around that time, this big coven, created the silver daggers, after putting their witch mother asleep by the way, only Klaus wasn't affected and woke his family up… 'Finn snorts' …and then they proceeded to wipe out the coven, leading to how the Original family became so feared, so they created the Slayer as a response, their ultimate weapon." said Troy dramatically.

"She likely followed us from the pyramids," Troy explained.

"So, you don't know any way to stop her, no weakness at all?" asked Sage.

"Sorry, not as far as I know," repeated Troy. "Fun fact, did you know she was the one who wiped out Dracula and his goons?"

"The fuck do I care about some jackass from way back when in a place I don't give a fuck about!? Find me a way to put her down!" Sage yelled fiercely, causing him to shrink back.

"Sure thing boss," said Troy, making a hasty retreat.

Finn, on the other hand, was going through the fight with the Slayer in his head, recalling how the gem in her sword grew dimmer after every death.

"Okay, from what I can tell, the sword cuts through magic, which is why normal vampires can't heal from it, and why even Originals take a while to recover despite being far more durable. It's cutting through the very magic that makes you what you are. Luckily, as an Original, the spell that shaped you is far more potent and well put together than your offshoots; it's able to recover where others cannot," Davina explained her findings while working on him.

"So, it doesn't help her track?" asked Sage.

"No," replied Davina.

"Then how the hell did she find us?" asked Sage.

"If I had to guess, you said the wounds were a common theme in who she tracks... Then she must have a sort of magical vampire sense that allows her to easily pinpoint the ones she's damaged, which would also make tracking an Original easier," Davina theorized.
