Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Crimson

"Who are you?"

No response.

"Why are you in my place?"

No response once again.

Clenching his fist, Sol couldn't help but look at the man with resentment and fear in his eyes. Before Sol could ask another question, the man quickly dashed forward and appeared right before his eyes, as well as his tachi, thrusting toward his chest. However, Sol managed to quickly step to his right, barely dodging the attack, at least that's what he thought. He felt something running down his chest and noticed his white pajamas were turning red at an alarming rate.

How was I stabbed? I swear I dodged it, and why don't I feel any pain?

Glancing up, Sol saw the man right in front of him with the sword right above his head, just a second away from reaching him. However, before the tachi could land, a flower vase was smashed directly into the man, sending the man tumbling back a few feet until he steadied himself.

"Ares, thank you, god man, that would've ended me!"

"Instead of thanking me, focus on the enemy idiot."

"Right!"

'Wait, who the hell are you calling an idiot?'

The man brushed his shoulders and looked at the two men as if he wasn't even scratched at least a tiny bit. Seeing this, the two immediately focused on their target with seriousness plastered all over their face. The man tilted his head left and right, and suddenly, let out a loud screeching noise, causing the duo to quickly cover their ears. Ares, who quickly snapped out of it, glanced up, but found the man about two feet away from him, and his sword, aiming at his head.

To the man's dismay, instead of feeling the penetration of flesh, it instead penetrated deep into the brick wall with no signs of being freed. Ares, who was ducked down, quickly let out a leg sweep, but missed as the man quickly jumped back.

Damn, I was so close!

Frustrated, Ares grabbed the table that the vase was sitting on, and wanted to charge at the man, but his vision was clouded by red. Confused, he swept the liquid off his forehead and realized it was blood, his blood.

"Ares, quick, look to your left!"

Confused by Sol's sudden shout, he turned his head and noticed the man was right by his side, but instead of simply attacking him, he was trying to free the tachi from the wall. Slightly annoyed that he was being ignored, Ares punched him in the hip, sending him flying across the room, making, causing the unknown man to crash into a bunch of tables and chairs. While the man was hurriedly trying to stand up, Ares grabbed the sword with one hand and pulled it right out of the wall, leaving cracks and a broken hole as decoration.

Although this isn't Sol's first time witnessing his strength, he's always stunned to see how strong his friend truly is and still believes that his friend isn't human whatsoever.

Seeing the sword finally freed, but within the enemy's hand, the intruder started tilting his head left and right at a rapid speed, before eventually letting out a devastating shrieking noise, causing the two to fall to their knees with blood convulsing out of their ears.

Before Ares could writhe in agony, a powerful kick was landed on his face, instantly cracking his nose and sending him flying back, breaking the wall and entering the two girls' room. Sol, finally opening his bloodshot eyes, looked around but couldn't find his best friend anywhere, only the devil that was standing right next to him.

Left with no choice, he picked up a wooden stool right next to him and dashed toward the devil, using all the strength he could muster to land a heavy blow to the opponent's head. To his dismay, the man simply dodged and countered with a side kick. Noticing the fast action performed by his opponent, Sol quickly ducked, twisted his body, and performed a back kick straight to the man's liver.

'Take that, you bastard!' Successfully landing an attack, the man let out a sharp, inhuman noise, which did not affect Sol, as he was still suffering from the hearing loss from his previous attack. Sol, who had a grin as wide from one bloody ear to another, quickly used this chance to try and grab the sword, but unfortunately for him, the man was faster.

While he was an inch away from the sword, the man beat him to it by a fraction of a second. Left with no choice, Sol couldn't do anything but keep his distance and try to find an opening that this opponent left, but to no avail, not because the man was too experienced, but the opposite. It was Sol who was inexperienced. While he had some combat knowledge, he never fought an actual opponent who aimed to actually murder him.

With no other choice left, he made a dumb move that somehow worked. He simply waited for the man to swing his sword and simply charged at him, landing powerful jabs, kicks, and uppercuts, and before his enemy could thrust his sword at him, he quickly stepped back, out of range; he made sure of it.

At least that's what he thought. Sol noticed a steel pipe to his far right that he wanted to grab and try to use to his advantage, but before he could move, he fell. Glancing down, his left leg was drenched in his blood, with a wound stretching from his knee to his foot.

'How the hell did I get cut?'

Before he could answer his own question, a foot landed on his face, breaking his nose and causing him to fly for a few seconds, until eventually crashing into a table, with items falling all over him. Slowly losing his consciousness, Sol was desperate to get up and fight, but couldn't. His body refused to listen as his eyelid slowly grew heavy, too heavy for him to lift, but he still managed to glance in his direction one last time. However, he quickly regretted that decision because the man was staring at him, with the white tachi held in his right hand, with the blade dyed completely red.

On the verge of losing his consciousness, eternally. A sudden shiver crept up his spine. While the man was wearing a demonic mask, Sol couldn't help but feel that the man was grinning, seemingly because of new victims at his mercy.
