Cassius froze. "…Die?"
She nodded. "My body is changing on the inside right now. Evolving. It needs a constant source of energy to sustain the process."
"If I suddenly stop feeding from that source and replace it with something weaker, my body will begin to consume itself. The transformation will turn inward."
"I'll wither from within until there's nothing left."
Cassius frowned. "…That's not good."
"It's irreversible." She said calmly. "Once started, the process must be completed. Otherwise…"
She trailed off, while he rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
"How long do you think this will last? Until you're back to normal?"
"I don't know." She admitted. "A few weeks, maybe a few months. But it will end. Eventually, my body will stabilize, and I'll no longer need your blood."
Cassius leaned back, tapping his chin. Then a sly, almost devilish grin crossed his face.
