Chapter 10 - Choosing Weapons

Walking around on top of the mountain, Aira was pointing at areas while they where passing by them.

"The log cabins been here before our house has, the storage shack behind it has training equipment and wooden weapons in it. Over there is the sand pit for agility training, the dirt patch over there is for sparing and over there…"

Atlas and Altair where quickly absorbing her words like a sponge but had their eyes fixed on the storage shed.

Arriving at the shed Aira walked in. Atlas and Altair peeked their head in the door and where looking around to find the weapons. But before they could find them Aira was already back and said

"Okay i got the stuff for weight training so let go and get it done."

Following her they walked over to a small dirt patch that wasn't the sparing area, she waved her hand and a bunch of different equipment came out of her storage ring.

Both where excited to see all the equipment appear out of nowhere but it was short lived because of their mothers new words.

"First you'll be doing meditation, so sit here, close your eyes, get comfortable and relax your posture."

Sitting down on the grassy area that was before the dirt patch, Atlas and Altair closed their eyes.

"Good now take deep breaths in and slow ones out, clear your mind, try to keep unnecessary thoughts away, if your mind strays bring your focus back to your breath."

They did as they were told but after 10 mins Aira could see them peeking their eyes open.

She took out a thin wooden stick from her spatial ring, smacked them on their backs and would have to get on them to get them to close their eyes and take it seriously.

After an hour of meditation both were starting to dose off. Aira took out the thin wooden stick from her storage ring again and started to smack their shoulders with it. This continued until they both could sit there and meditate for an hour straight with out dosing off or losing their focus.

After around 2 hours of successful meditation, the sun that had harshly been beating down on them was getting closer to the western horizon.

Aira then walked them to the dirt patch that had all the equipment laid out.

There where dumbbells, a bench press, squat rack, and many other equipments for them to work with.

"Okay I'll quickly run you guys through what you need to be doing."

Aira said with a serious demeanor. She then walked them through how to handle the equipment, what areas the exercises work on their bodies and correct form.

She had them help each other, told them to take notice of each others forms and tell the other what they could do better and ask her questions if they had any until they got the hang of it.

Atlas and Altair took it very seriously because of the stick whipping they got during meditation. They knew they needed more muscle mass so they could get strong and better at climbing and for what was to come.

10 minutes after walking them through everything they soon got started with body weight exercises. Starting with pushups, to holding planks, sit-ups, squats, then lunges.

After finishing with body exercises they took a 10 minute break then got started on weightlifting exercises.

There was a bench press set laid out, a pull up bar with wooden supports coming out of the ground and a set of dumbbell's with weights ranging from 10-35 pounds.

When they went to do weighted squats they took the bar from the bench press set and moved it over to the wood supports where they did pull-ups and two wooded notches came out of the wood to hold the bar.

They did sets on each equipment rotating and spotting the other through workouts.

After getting finished both Atlas and Altair laid on the ground completely warn out.

The sunset dyed the clouds in a warm vibrant orange fading into a deep red the closer one looked to the horizon. The wind was getting colder but it made Atlas and Altair feel more awake.

Aira sat behind where they were lying down, staring at the sun dyed landscape before them. Moving her gaze to the twins she asked

"Ready to see what you want to try out? We have quite the collection hehe."

Atlas was quick to jump up to his feet while Altair, still warn out, stayed lying on the ground staring at the clouds.

"Yes! Yes! YES!"

He was very ready to get a sword in his hands and start practicing.

He walked over to Altair, grabbed her hands and pulled her up. She groaned and said with a tried tone

"Atty I'm sleepy can we do it tomorrowww?"

"Nope! Today, TODAY!"

Pulling her along he dragged her to the shed that had the wooden weapons in it. Aira followed behind them while giggling at Altairs unfortunate situation.

Arriving at the shed Aira moved in front of them and opened the door to the shed.

Walking in they saw three huge shelves lining the walls that held a plethora of different types of wooden and steel weapons.

The wooden weapons where lined up on the shelves to the right and the different kinds of steel weapons where across from them, to their left.

At the end of the room, the shelves held different materials they didn't recognize but mostly looked like metals.

Walking into the room Atlas moved like light to the wooden swords and daggers. His eyes scanned all the sizes and types.

There where great swords, broad swords, claymores, sabers, rapiers, double edge swords, single edge swords, katanas, short swords, daggers, swords of varying sizes, balance points and lengths.

He scanned with his eyes till they landed on a wooden great sword. He went forth to pick it up. He struggled to pick up the wooden great sword but with great effort got it rested on his shoulder.

He turned to look at Aira and Altair that where still standing by the door and said with a proud smile on his face

"Hehe this is the on-!"

The great sword was too heavy for him, he lost his balance and fell on his butt

Both Aira and Altair started laughing and Aira said while wiping the tears from her eyes

"Hahaha perhaps not right now but maybe in the future, it a bit too big for you right now."

Altair walked over to take a look at the dagger shelf while Atlas picked himself back up and returned the great sword to the shelf he took it off of.

Looking back at the shelf's Atlas switch his attention to the shorter swords that would fit his size better.

He grabbed a few swords off the shelf and rested them against the shelf while he continued to look at the options.

Altair had picked off a set of dual daggers, a chained sickle, then walked over to the bo staffs and picked up one.

Aira watched them quietly as they picked a few weapons. After a while Altair picked the 3 while Atlas picked up a short thin bladed katana, a claymore, a short double edge sword and bo staff as well.

Walking out of the shed they headed over to the sparing area. There was a fence around a dirted area that was flat with training dummies setup in the middle.

Atlas and Atlar walked with smiled on their faces and their arms where circled around their weapons.

Walking into the training area they set down the weapon on the ground and Aira said

"Okay now that you've picked out the weapons you want to learn first i'll explain how they work because they're a little special. These weapons may be wooden but they have enchantments on them to adapt their size and weight to the person wielding them. Don't worry about breaking them since they're very durable-"

"Wait Momma! So i can use the great sword?!"

Nodding her head at Atlas while giggling. He took off in a sprint back to the shed and dragged the wooden great sword out to the training area while panting.

Wiping the sweat off his face he said in an excited tone of voice

"Ready!"

Shaking her head she waved her hand and the wooden wepoms glowed green and said

"Alright they're ready, just grab it and it'll adapt."

Atlas picked up the great sword and it soon changed its appearance. The blade shortened and the width got a little smaller but didn't change much.

Looking at the supposed to be great sword in his hands he let out a disappointed sigh.

The thing literally looked like an abnormally big dagger that a giant would use!

Altair laughed at her brothers plight and picked up the dual daggers. They transformed and mostly stayed the same besides now they had more weight to them and the handles felt like a perfect fit in her hands.

Atlas picked up the katana. It adapted to his size and became around 2 and a half feet long in total. The handle was a perfect fit for both of his hands and although the weight had hanged it still felt light in his hands.

Looking at the both of them Aira nodded her head and said

"Looks good, mhm, lets get started."
