Abigail sat beside Lucy, their heads bent close together, as they conversed and got to know each other while the jet cut through the clouds.
Lucy held Abigail's hand sometimes as she spoke, as though she wanted to assure herself that Abigail was real and there beside her.
Abigail told Lucy all about her relationship with Ryan and Genevieve, and how tough it had been for her.
Abigail's cheeks glowed, any reservation she had faded with every word Lucy said. "So, you see? It doesn't matter how bad your experience is, what matters most is what you make out of it."
Abigail smiled and nodded. "Like making lemonade when life throws lemons at you."
"Exactly! You could draw your purpose from your experience no matter how unpleasant. The way I see it, surviving your bad experience could be the salvation of someone else in a similar situation," Lucy said, and Abigail nodded in agreement.
"You're right."
