Tharion and Zorath watched in helpless horror as Eyrx's long, coiled tail dragged Thalina deeper into the abyss. The dark, shifting water swallowed her whole, her pale form vanishing into the depths.
Zorath thrashed violently, trying to push forward, his golden eyes blazing with panic. But no matter how much he fought, an unseen force clamped around him, holding him in place.
Tharion, however, had stopped struggling. Arms crossed over his chest, his blue eyes sharp with calculation, he turned to Zorath, his voice cutting through the water like a blade.
"Are you dumb or what?"
Zorath jerked his head toward him, his golden eyes narrowing dangerously.
"What the hell did you just say to me?" he snapped, his voice vibrating through the water.
