He took a deep breath and continued, "Once my company becomes a billion-dollar business, I will come and stay with you. Until then, I have to focus."
Mary didn't push further. Instead, she nodded with understanding. "Then I will visit you often," she said softly. "Now that we have faced everything, there's no reason to hide my feelings anymore. I can show you my care without fear."
Alex felt his heart swell with happiness. He had always dreamed of a day when his mother's love would no longer be a secret. He never expected it to happen like this.
Just then, Adam coughed softly to get Alex's attention. His voice was calm and collected. "If you ever need help," he said, "you can contact me."
Alex remembered hearing that Adam had become the CEO of a mechanic company. The company was not one of the biggest, but it had a good turnover. The offer of help was genuine.
