With Lady Matilda stepping out of the hospital lobby, Julian stood rooted watching as Donald helped her into the car, before long the car zoomed off.
His gaze still trained towards the direction the car left, emotions swarmed through his heart just as thoughts coursed through his mind.
"Julian," Josh called, his voice piercing through his thoughts. Slowly, Julian retracted his gaze. "Are you through with meeting?"
Julian sighed. "Yes, how is my sister?" he asked, his voice flat and low.
Josh felt the Julian before him now was a bit off. His heart clenched, his thoughts brimmed with questions.
What had he discussed with Lady Matilda before his arrival?
Why had he suddenly turned cold?
"Julian, are you okay?" he asked with unsteady breath.
Julian nodded. But then he couldn't help the bitterness swelling in his heart. And some of the questions coursing through his mind, "Dad," he called tentatively.
