Chapter 904 - Chapter 901: Preparing for a Treasure Hunt

"Alright, stay in the car and don't move. I'm going to call the police." Jiang Hai said seriously, looking at Lois Knightley sitting in the passenger seat. Lois Knightley nodded, then put on Jiang Hai's jacket, pulled up the hood, reclined the seat, and lay down.

Seeing that Lois Knightley was ready, Jiang Hai removed the car keys, got out, and walked towards the police station.

After questioning Bruce David about the dragon badge, Jiang Hai had taken Lois Knightley out of the mental hospital, gotten into his car, and sped down the mountain. Once

he had a signal, he first called Qi Jie and the others back home, who were already very worried, to let them know he was safe and to ask them to call Moses Adams immediately.

He also realized that their plan to go into the mountains would have to be postponed, as this matter was quite serious.

He then drove directly to the nearby town. Arriving at the police station, Jiang Hai parked the car, spoke to Lois Knightley, and then went inside.

"Hello, what can I do for you?" Seeing Jiang Hai enter, the officer on night duty sat up, looking at him with some confusion. It was almost five o'clock, meaning dawn was breaking. Jiang Hai had seen

the Los Angeles sun at four in the morning before, but this officer was extremely sleepy. The town only had about five hundred people, and it was rare for anyone to come to the police station at night—at least, this was the first time he'd encountered such a situation while on duty.

"Hello, my name is Jiang Hai. I own a ranch in Winthrop. You should be able to find information about me online. What I'm about to say needs to be reported to the state police immediately," Jiang Hai said seriously, looking at the still-sleepy young man. Hearing Jiang Hai's serious tone, the officer looked at him intently.

"I went to the Giant Mountain Mental Hospital on the mountain today—no, yesterday. A few days ago, because the cell tower was blown down, the inmates and patients there mutinied. They killed all the guards, doctors, and nurses, impersonated them, and killed them all. They've been eating people these past few days. I barely escaped. Here's the evidence. Call your superior now!" Jiang Hai said earnestly to the policeman in front of him. Hearing

this, the young policeman was completely stunned. The news of a madman taking over a mental hospital and eating people left him bewildered. It wasn't until Jiang Hai tapped the table in front of him, seeing his stunned expression, that he snapped out of it. He immediately picked up the phone and called the town's police chief. The chief, still asleep, was also shocked upon hearing the news and immediately called the state government—this was major news.

After reporting the incident to the police, Jiang Hai went to the police station and waited for the high-ranking officials to arrive. Within half an hour, all the town's police officers were in place, and twenty of them were sent to cordon off the mountain.

A little over an hour later, the city police arrived, this time with over a hundred officers, along with an armed police unit. Jiang Hai didn't know what the armed police were called in the US, but in his hometown, they were the Coast Guard patrol team.

The head of the armed police was greatly surprised after watching the video provided by Jiang Hai. Such a scandalous matter should naturally be covered up as quickly as possible, so he spoke to Jiang Hai, hoping he wouldn't easily reveal it to the media. However, he understood that such a big matter couldn't be completely concealed; he could only hope that the matter would be resolved internally within the police force.

Jiang Hai didn't care about this; he wasn't relying on the whistleblower rewards for making money anyway.

Then, at 10:00 AM, over a hundred fully armed police officers stormed the mental hospital. Inside, they indeed saw what Jiang Hai had described. Almost all the police vomited, while most of the patients were quite docile. A few resisted, but against such heavily armed police, their resistance was futile.

The mental hospital was quickly overrun, and in the basement, they found the mastermind, Doflamingo Campbell.

The entire operation lasted only about ten minutes before the mental hospital was wiped out. Even so, it somehow attracted the media's attention. When the police finished their battle and were descending the mountain, they found the media had swarmed the area. Sensing the danger, Jiang Hai, who had come as a guide, immediately disappeared into the crowd, got into his car, and took Lois Knightley home.

He knew that taking Lois Knightley with him was illegal, but he had to do it. If she stayed, she might be beaten, and more importantly, if she went to a regular mental hospital, the wealthy man could easily kill her first if Jiang Hai wanted to overturn her case. Even if Jiang Hai forced a retrial for a dead person, it would be useless. So Jiang Hai took Lois Knightley with him, though not directly.

Before leaving, he called Moses Adams, who, after hearing Jiang Hai's words, said he would fly to Los Angeles immediately. He also made a connection for Jiang Hai: after this incident, Jiang Hai would donate one million dollars to the California Police Department. Of course, the donation was just a donation; currently, Jiang Hai was protecting a witness. The

city police chief was also notified; otherwise, they would have difficulty handling the situation if someone was missing during their inventory.

After everything was settled, Jiang Hai returned to Los Angeles, with Lois Knightley watching the outside world the entire way.

To be honest, she hadn't felt this kind of freedom in a long time. Every blade of grass, every flower, everything outside made her quite nostalgic. Seeing her expression, Jiang Hai smiled slightly. This world was indeed full of darkness.

But none of that mattered to Jiang Hai. However, having saved a life, Jiang Hai felt he had done a good deed!

Of course, Jiang Hai's good deed had nothing to do with her helping him cough that night. Jiang Hai was a gentleman.

Yes, that's how he saw it. He felt incredibly noble and full of positive energy.

Look how saintly he was, even saving a madwoman—such great love was quite remarkable.

Driving, Jiang Hai quickly returned to Beverly Hills in Los Angeles. After waiting there for half a day, Moses Adams arrived.

After arriving, he officially took over Lois Knightley's case, and Jiang Hai and his team prepared to go into the mountains the next day.

However, before leaving, Moses Adams pulled Jiang Hai aside.

"Boss, when did you arrive in Los Angeles?" Moses Adams asked Jiang Hai with some confusion. To be honest, he didn't even know when Jiang Hai had arrived in Los Angeles. How could he have just come like that?

"I've been here for several days now. What's wrong? Is there trouble with Lois Knightley?" Jiang Hai asked, looking at Moses Adams with some doubt. If the problem could be solved with money, then it didn't matter. But if money couldn't solve it, then it was troublesome.

"No, this case is full of suspicious points, and as for our opponent, I've also looked into it. He's just a small-time nouveau riche, with some connections to the California conglomerate, but he's just a pawn. Nobody would mess with a billionaire like you. I'm asking you this to ask if you went to Google to get your shares verified since you came to Los Angeles." Looking at Jiang Hai, Moses Adams waved his hand. Jiang Hai was the superior; he only needed to say what to do, and then Moses Adams and his subordinates had to solve problems for Jiang Hai, including finding out who Jiang Hai's chosen opponent was.

The person who framed Lois Knightley, in the eyes of ordinary people, was a giant, with total assets of around two or three hundred million US dollars, and some connections to the California conglomerate, one of the top ten conglomerates in the US.

If an ordinary person offended him, they would naturally be doomed, but Jiang Hai… well, that's called crushing him.

So, in Moses Adams's view, he could win Lois Knightley's case for less than half a million. He was that confident because his connections were now far superior to those of someone who only had a hundred or two hundred million, even though it was Knightley's home turf. Besides, Jiang Hai was never one to make the horse run without feeding it.

He had already spent a million to keep Lois Knightley from being arrested in this case, and now he was paying Moses Adams two million for legal representation. In other words, if it was settled within two million, the rest was his. How much he could save was up to Moses Adams's ability, and what Moses Adams cared about was Jiang Hai's social standing.

"Certified shares?" Hearing Moses Adams's words, Jiang Hai stroked his chin. This was indeed a problem.

"Wait for me to come back. Things here are a bit urgent." After thinking for a moment, Jiang Hai said to Moses Adams. His matters were indeed quite pressing. After he finished his trip to the Native American territory, he would return to Silicon Valley for certification.

By then, Moses Adams would probably have mostly settled things with Lois Knightley. Of course, building a company isn't as simple as it seems, but with money paving the way, it's not that difficult! (To be continued.)
