To create a quieter environment for Ayari, Makoto moved his office from the study to the front yard.
The feeling of working from home was far more comfortable than being in the Hokage building, which made Makoto less urgent about the idea of rebuilding the Hokage building.
But then, thinking about how after Ayari gave birth, he might no longer be able to enjoy any office play under her watch, he felt it might be better to have a professional office space.
He could then plan and rebuild it according to his own preferences.
As Makoto enjoyed the massage from Samui behind him, Ayano suddenly walked in.
She gave a quick glance at the stunningly beautiful Samui before walking up to Makoto and quietly said, "Lord Makoto, Miss Kushina and Lady Mikoto are here and are with Ayari."
Makoto furrowed his brows.
He hadn't told Ayari about these messy matters, not wanting to upset her, so why had these two women come to him?
It was clear to him that Kushina must have come to discuss Minato's situation.
Just then, an Anbu appeared in the office.
"Lord Makoto, Lady Ayari is in labor!"
Makoto jumped up from his chair, his mind blanking.
"What did you say?!"
Ayano also exclaimed in shock, "Ayari... she..."
She had only been gone for a short while.
How had this happened?
In the next moment, Makoto immediately flew out of the room.
Ayano stood there in a daze for a moment before hastily running out as well.
By the time Makoto arrived, Ayari had already begun labor.
The Hyuga clan had a designated delivery room with several doctors on standby at all times.
He tried to enter the room but was stopped by the doctor: "Lord, please don't go in for the sake of you and Lady Ayari."
"Why?" Makoto seemed a little impatient.
"Men who witness the childbirth process may have an impact on their future marital life. Lady Ayari also doesn't want you to go in."
"Don't worry, Lord. We'll take care of everything. Nothing will happen."
Blocked at the door, Makoto had no choice but to abandon his desire to enter.
However, the occasional sound of Ayari's painful cries from inside the room made him anxious.
Outside the delivery room, Mikoto and Kushina stood by.
Mikoto had intended to comfort Makoto, but when she saw the stern look on his face, her heart skipped a beat.
She forced a smile and said, "Ayari will be fine. Both mother and child will be safe."
Makoto didn't respond, only narrowing his eyes and glancing at Kushina, who, feeling uneasy, avoided his gaze.
Before long, many members of the Hyuga clan arrived in the courtyard—elderly members of the family who had heard about Ayari's labor and came over.
Many of them reassured Makoto that everything would be fine, but Makoto remained silent, pacing in front of the delivery room.
Time passed, though he couldn't tell how long it had been, until he noticed that the sun had moved quite a distance across the sky.
Finally, a loud cry of a baby came from inside.
The sound was like a shot of adrenaline.
The clan members smiled and congratulated Makoto.
After another ten minutes or so, the delivery room door opened, and the doctor came out holding the baby.
Makoto took one look and thought, this child is really ugly!
Its skin was all wrinkled, and it didn't even have a normal color.
Fortunately, he knew a bit about physiology, so he understood that newborn babies often look like this.
"Lord, it's a boy."
Makoto extended his hands to take the baby, gently cradling him in his arms.
The baby had already fallen asleep, eyes tightly shut, breathing evenly.
Makoto couldn't quite describe the feeling he had now.
Ignoring the congratulatory voices from the people around him, he quickly moved towards the room, practically running to the bed.
"Ayari, the child!"
Ayari, lying on the bed, weakly looked at him.
Makoto smiled and reached out to carefully touch the baby in his arms.
Unfortunately, the child was still asleep and didn't respond to his gentle teasing.
Even so, it gave Makoto immense satisfaction.
"Ayari, our child!" Makoto said, his voice full of emotion.
Ayari weakly responded, "He's not a daughter."
Makoto replied, "It's okay. A son is great. I like sons!"
Ayari silently smiled at his words.
This fool had clearly said before that he wanted a daughter, but seeing the genuine joy on his face, she felt deeply satisfied inside.
Makoto lifted the baby high above his head and, under the gaze of everyone, proclaimed:
"Neji! Hyuga Neji!"
He gazed down at the child in his hands, smiling proudly.
Whether or not this was the same Neji from the original story, he was still his son.
Makoto would make sure that this child, like him, would stand at the top of this world!
Makoto gently placed little Neji next to Ayari.
"Thank you for everything, Ayari."
Ayari turned her head to look at their child and, in a teasing tone, said,
"Why is he so ugly? He doesn't look like you or me."
Makoto chuckled, "He'll grow into a handsome boy. All newborns look like this."
He crouched down by the bed, looking at his son and wife.
Ayari suddenly spoke up, "Makoto, thank you."
Makoto was taken aback and then replied, "Don't say such silly things. I should be the one thanking you."
After sharing some intimate words with Ayari, Makoto then went back to the door, holding little Neji.
"This child's name is Hyuga Neji. He will be the next leader of the Hyuga clan."
The family members in the courtyard approached to congratulate him, speaking of how young Neji would surely grow into a great person, a dragon among men.
Meanwhile, Mikoto and Kushina also came closer.
"Um... Can I hold him?" Mikoto asked shyly, yet with a hint of anticipation.
With the child safely born, Makoto's lingering worries vanished.
These two women were Ayari's good friends, so he handed the baby to Mikoto.
Mikoto said, "This child is so cute."
Makoto couldn't help but twitch his mouth, thinking, "Where do you see the cuteness?"
Kushina, standing nearby, muttered softly, "He's really ugly."
As soon as she finished speaking, she noticed Makoto looking at her with a displeased expression.
Mikoto played with little Neji for a while, then turned to Kushina and asked, "Do you want to hold him and try?"
Kushina was momentarily stunned when she heard this. "I... can I?"
Mikoto smiled and said, "Didn't you always look forward to the birth of this child?"
Kushina looked at the baby in Mikoto's arms and suddenly felt a little flustered.
She carefully took the child into her own arms, as if holding a precious treasure.
Perhaps disturbed by the noise, little Neji didn't cry but instead looked up with his bright, clear eyes, staring at Kushina.
Kushina hesitated and softly called out, "Neji..."
This was a newborn child.
She suddenly remembered herself and Minato.
They had once eagerly looked forward to having a child of their own, and a sudden pang of sadness and grievance welled up inside her.
"Neji... Naruto..."
The child didn't respond but merely looked at the weeping woman with his bright white eyes, curious about the reason for her tears.
