Chapter 40 - Chp 38: A Boost.

The battle in the main square paused as Orovas exclaimed in shock, his Prismatic Spear shattered to oblivion.

Jaldabaoth laughter rang out, his mocking gaze directed at Orovas.

"Look at you, being so high and mighty just moments ago, and now a lowly human destroyed your precious Rune Crafted Artifact!"

"Shut up you brute!" Orovas gritted his teeth as he glared at the demon.

"Enough of this meaningless chatter." Ainz spoke as he released his 10th tier magic.

[Reality Slash]

Two consecutive slashes that cut space reached Orovas as they easily cut his torso and neck.

"N-nooo" Uttering his last breathe, Orovas disintegrated into particles same as the spear as now only Jaldabaoth and Ainz stood.

"Tch- Sorcerer King! I will remember this day! I will be back!" Jaldabaoth declared as he prepared to leave. When he turned behind him he saw Hyortr appear, blocking his escape.

Floating in the sky calmly as if taking a stroll through the backyard, he clasped his hands before him as he looked at Jaldabaoth.

"I apologise but, you shall die here." With his words as a catalyst, countless vines wrapped around Jaldabaoth. Although the fire and lava in his body burnt the vines, more and more vines kept growing as they completely encased Jaldabaoth.

Without a second wasted, an explosion occured as Ainz and Hyortr teleported away.

Returning to the damaged balcony, they were met by a stunned Neia, and the knights. From their perspective, what they saw was nothing but a duel of gods, magic on the scale never seen before was used wantonly, and then after Neia somehow destroyed the spear it seemed to go downhill so fast.

Breaking out of his stupor the Prince approached them as he bowed his head slightly.

"I can't bring myself to show how much I am thankful for you Saving us Sorcerer King. Please, tell me, how can I compensate for your efforts."

"There is no need for payment. I came here with the goal to destroy the Dark Eclipse Order and to acquire some exotic demon maids. Both of which were fulfilled." Ainz raised his hands as he denied any compensation.

With Jaldabaoth and Orovas 'dead' the demihumans occupying the captured cities were quickly retaken by the revitalized knights.

While Ainz left with a grand farewell from the citizens of Roble Kingdom the next day, thanks to a certain devoted Squire, Hyortr stayed behind to aid the kingdom for some time while also being an envoy and logistical head for the relief goods that will be sent from Sorcerer's Kingdom.

In his stay, he used his life based spells to rejuvenate the citizens as he helped fertilize and regrow the forests that were burned down by the demihumans in their conquest.

His such simple help with low 7th or 8th tier Spells quickly helped garner faith and admiration for him and by extension the Sorcerer King. And let's not forget about the large influence the Saint Neia Baraja was impacting.

She held countless speeches around the north to showcase Lord Ainz's greatness and that power is justice, Lord Ainz is Justice Incarnate.

While that went on, Hyortr and Demiurge completed their Ritual. In context of the demihumans capturing the humans, they acquired around 2 million human.

Almost 70 percent of them were weak peasants under level 2 or 3 but there were some mercenaries, adventurers or knights which were around level 10 or 20.

Using the ritual, Hyortr extracted the souls from the humans as he converted them into his exp. After consuming them, he saw three changes.

First, as he expected, the gains decreased the more he consumed. Perhaps it was because the limit was not reached while in their previous research but the afore-mentioned 1% increase in Mana dropped by 0.003% every 10k souls.

Second change was that even though it dropped by 0.003% after each 10k souls, he still benifited from it by a lot.

His mana is now 240, physical attack 101, magical attacks 120, hp 216, stamina 101

And vitality 120.

In comparison his original base stats were as follows, mana 100, physical attacks 80, magical attacks 95, hp 90, stamina 80, vitality 95.

He noticed how his intelligence which was at 100 increased by only 5 units making it 105.

And how could he calculate it so precisely you ask? Well....it's just plot.

Anyways, third change was that he noticed how he gained some sort of new insights into his racial and job classes. He felt his Abyss connection growing, he chose to quantify this by penning it Abyssal Influence Tiers.

Abyssal Influence would encompass the overall control, sense and usage of a creature over the Abyss. The more their control, clear sensing and versatile usages, the higher the tier.

For Normal Hilichruls who were influenced by the Abyss, he put them in 1st tier.

Stronger metachruls and chiefs were placed at 2nd.

Abyss mages and Hounds were at 3rd.

While he assumed Abyss heralds and lectors to be at 4th.

He previously felt qualified to put himself in 4th tier. But now, after this immense boost, he presumed he was now suited for 5th tier.

His control over the Abyss eased greatly, as if the Abyss saw him as a friend, heeding to his thoughts and will. But a certain boundary still existed.

Keeping these thoughts aside, Hyortr and Demiurge submitted the reports to Ainz who after glossing over the Quantum science level of calculations and elaborate words, he 'discretly' asked Demiurge to easily and simply narrate the same report to the Guardians.

On a side note, after the ritual, Hyortr tried to summon mobs through the souless husk of those humans and saw that they would dissapear after a certain time limit, just like how it was in the Game.

He attributed it with the fact that the souls of these humans were forcibly extracted this leading to this development.

After consulting with Demiurge and Ainz who also experimented with summons which producd the same result, they decided to recycle these corpses to be Scroll materials and nutrition for Hyortr's Plant monster in Katze plains.

This oversight was overlooked by Hyortr because the ritual was a large scale spell, a small scale experimentation was not plausible. Regardless, it was decided that they will halt this ritual untill enough sacrifices were produced. Meaning when enough stock reached the required requirements, only then they will consume the souls.

Back in the Floating Castle, after two days.

"I never thought such a drastic change will happen with my slight hesitation...." PDL spoke in regret as he heard the news of the outside world from Rigrit, whose expression remained hardened from the moment she entered the hall.

"I don't blame you, for a Dragon Lord like you who views years as mere seconds, such an oversight is understandable. Infact even I can't believe how much change this world has undergone in a matter of a single year." Rigrit spoke as she looked at the contemplating Dragon Lord.

"It's fortunate that atleast one side has been destroyed. We can now fully focus on the Sorcerer Kingdom without dividing our attention to both the Undead and the Dark Eclipse....but even now, I don't recall any memory of such dynasties...." PDL answered as he glanced at the Armour.

"Are you going to act now?" Rigrit asked as he saw his glinted eyes.

"...No..not yet." After a moment of silence he answered as he returned to his slumber.

'Still not a threat huh?' Rigrit spoke in her mind as she departed.

The world was quickly shifting and the large movements are now starting to disrupt the still shadows.

What will this end up for Nazarick?
