Chapter 29 - Punishment!

Chapter 29: Punishment!

"Pick it Up!"

"Pick it Up!"

"Pick it Up!"

The atmosphere within the prison was heart-shaking.

Due to all prisoners cheering at once, even without seeing or hearing anything, the very ground they stood on seemed as if it was being lifted.

"One!" As the dark-skinned criminal counted down to one, he couldn't be bothered anymore as his hand reached out for Ken.

He was going to catch him by the neck and drag him down to the floor.

'Once I have him under control, I'll break his spirit, and then toy with him however I want.' These were the thoughts the face of the criminal seemed to express.

Ken could read that much.

As the hand was going towards his hand, and while he was almost done with the process of turning his head, his mind was already able to process all of this.

Ken's eyes went cold.

And then... he moved.

With minimal movement, he threw his right hand to shift the movement of the opponent's, then he continued with the turn and used his dormant left arm as a 'spearhead' to pierce the throat of the opponent.

"KUGH!" The dark-skinned man made a loud sound as his eyes seemed to want to come out of their place.

He spat out a lot of saliva that seemed to have built up in his mouth, and before he could bring his hands back to catch his throat.

Ken lifted his right leg and, in a heavy, ruthless kick, attacked the man's source of shameful thoughts.

*Duff*

"GUHAAAAAAAAAAA!" The dark-skinned man shouted as loud as he could.

And as he did, blood gushed out from his mouth.

The attack was that bad, and due to him shouting louder while his throat was injured, the blood that was slowly rising couldn't do so leisurely anymore.

Ken's eyes then fell on the opponent's, which were unfocused due to the pain coming from multiple places.

Had he allowed him to rest, those eyes that were looking at him like prey would now be full of fear.

But Ken wasn't planning on even allowing that.

With his free right hand, he held out his hand, and before the spectators could process what was happening, especially those who were just listening.

The dark-skinned man's eyes were lost...

*Gukh*

Forever.

"GUHAaaaaAa!" He once again shouted, but his voice failed.

No longer the deep and authoritative voice, it was a heart-wrenching sound of pain that would have made anyone's heart soften and wish good even for such scum.

But Ken wasn't just anyone, not to criminals who were after him.

Then, he looked at the spectators, those who were watching them from the opposite cell, and all of them shivered and went back to their places.

Then he left the dark-skinned man shivering from head to toe as he fell.

Blood, saliva, and tears drenched his entire form as Ken got up to the upper bed on his right.

"Ugh... Ah, ah, ah." Weird sounds came from the injured man from time to time, but Ken could care less.

He used the moment of peace he was given to sort out some information.

He didn't know how long he'd be staying in this prison.

He doubted all of this should take more than a day, due to the time taken by the other disciples not surpassing 24 hours.

And just as he thought of this, the spirit's voice entered his mind.

"Mhm mhm, you're ruthless, almost scared even me." She said.

"Anyway, you passed the introductory test; you are eligible to know about your trial objective." She said.

"Your mission is to escape the prison. A prison break will happen, and all cells will open. Make use of the chaos to leave. Your rating will be based on the time it takes for you to leave and a couple other things that depend on your 'righteousness'." She hinted.

"The cells will open in 5 minutes; use this test run well, and make sure you seek retribution against the vile and filthy." She said before she disappeared.

Hearing all of what she said, Ken, whose mood was pretty bad, couldn't help but soften his expression.

The spirit must have thought she was smug, that she only gave him hints, and that he wouldn't be able to figure out much.

Too bad, he could guess many things just from that, not to mention he had the help of his hints too; they worked way better on such occasions.

Now it was time for him to use the tools at his disposal.

First of all, a weapon. He already had the xian liansuo, and he could summon it at any time.

His body had been perfectly reshaped due to his consciousness holding traces of his information, just enough to allow for that.

So he was able to use his weapon perfectly.

Second, once the cell opened, he would find a source of light; this place he was in was surely dark, and it was going to be night when he left, or if he took long enough, dawn.

He wasn't planning on staying here for 24 hours; it was way too long.
