Chapter 162 - A Slash That Shatters Heaven and Earth!

"It's… it's getting even bigger… That's gotta be over 100 meters tall now, right?!"

"Damn… So this is the true power of the CCG's Chairman? That's insane!"

"If it weren't for the shockwaves reaching all the way out here in Chiba, I'd swear we were watching some apocalyptic movie…"

"..."

All across Japan, people erupted in disbelief.

Hovering high above the battlefield, over 100 meters in the air, Eto looked like she was about to say something—only to notice sweat dripping down Byakuya's forehead. His brows were furrowed in visible strain.

It was the first time she'd seen Byakuya this exhausted, and concern crept into her heart.

That towering form — this Tengu Form of Susanoo — was clearly putting an enormous strain on him.

Then again, anything that massive should be exhausting to maintain. If it wasn't, that would be the real absurdity...

"You okay?"

Eto gently wiped the sweat from his forehead.

"Yeah..."

Byakuya barely grunted. He didn't want to waste a single breath.

The Fourth Form of Susanoo was already pushing him beyond his limits. He could feel his window closing—fast.

And it wasn't just the energy cost. Susanoo caused intense physical pain—as if every cell in his body was being torn out and weaponized.

Right now, his entire body throbbed in agony, though still manageable. That calm expression of his was long gone.

As for Perfect Susanoo? That was completely off the table. No chance of pulling it off in his current condition.

He had to end this. Now.

In the next instant, two massive blades materialized in the hands of Susanoo —SSS rated Quinques, Owl. These weren't just any weapons—they were now Susanoo's exclusive arsenal, scaled perfectly to match its towering size.

The blades themselves crackled with blue flames, seamlessly integrated into the giant's form.

A true hundred-meter titanic sword...

Far in the distance, Yoshimura's eyes widened when he recognized the weapon.

"That's… my arm...?"

He was stunned. The kakuhou harvested from his arm had been forged into a Quinque, but to think it could be amplified into that monstrosity?

And then it happened.

Byakuya made Susanoo raise both swords—before unleashing a massive horizontal slash in the direction he had earlier identified as the Dragon's Core.

Two colossal, flaming sword arcs—each easily over 100 meters wide—sliced through the air. The pressure they generated twisted space itself, warping the sky with their sheer force.

Everything in their path was obliterated.

Small houses? Flattened.

Skyscrapers? Vaporized.

The Dragon's sprawling, corrupted body? Torn apart like wet paper.

BOOOOOOM!!!

Even people watching through screens miles away could hear the cataclysmic roar.

Everyone was left speechless.

The most stunned, of course, were the civilians still in Tokyo — frozen mid-step, jaws agape, eyes locked skyward.

Even the Dragon Orphans — mutated remnants of the main body — paused, instinctively looking toward the destruction.

"..."

Yoshimura's mind was spinning. He had seen everything in his long life, but nothing this horrifying, this divine.

Every Ghoul faction — stood rooted in place, staring blankly at the distant colossus.

"Man, thank God we never pissed that guy off" Roma muttered in awe. "We wouldn't have even lived long enough to see this…"

"Right? We're only alive 'cause he was in a good mood that day..." Uta said, forcing a shaky laugh as he looked at Yomo.

"Yeah…" Yomo could only nod.

On the CCG side, the atmosphere wasn't much different.

"W-We're talking… city-level destruction," Marude whispered, pale as a ghost.

He was genuinely relieved that Byakuya, the CCG Chairman, believed in coexistence. Because with that kind of power… he could rule Japan by force if he wanted to.

The Washuu estate hadn't been spared from the shockwave either—though the inner archive room where Furuta and his family hid remained intact.

For Tsuneyoshi, though, this slash was the last straw. He had no doubt anymore: that level of destructive force could easily annihilate the Dragon.

He had already begun thinking about his last words.

"Furuta… in the end, you were right."

Yoshitoki, by contrast, seemed oddly calm.

But Furuta himself had no time to listen. He was too stunned, eyes locked onto the screen.

And in that very moment, Dragon's Core was gone—consumed entirely by the massive twin blade arcs.

Even though the core was deep underground, Byakuya had calculated the perfect trajectory. The arcs weren't parallel to the ground—they curved downward at an angle, slicing directly into the core and taking out everything in a kilometer-wide radius.

Skyscrapers? Gone. Terrain? Flattened.

Fortunately, Tokyo had already been evacuated. Even the stubborn residents who refused to leave had been corralled and protected by the CCG.

Otherwise, this one attack from Byakuya would have caused more casualties than Dragon itself.

Watching it all from his office, the Prime Minister finally realized why Byakuya had been so forceful about the evacuation.

With the Dragon Core destroyed, the entire corrupted Dragon carcass immediately began to shut down.

Of course, its massive body would take centuries to fully decay. And it was far tougher than any known kagune.

But in front of Susanoo?

It was no more than tissue paper.

[Ding! You have defeated EX-Rated Entity: Dragon. Reward: +1000 Attribute Points!]

EX-Rated meant the enemy had far surpassed standard ranking systems. And the reward was equally absurd.

But it was a small consolation for what Byakuya had just endured. That one slash had nearly killed him.

His task bar for the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan also updated:

Task ②: Slay "The Dragon" using "Tengu-Form Susanoo" (1/1)✅

And with that, Byakuya reached his limit. His body was completely overdrawn. The moment the attack landed, he dispelled Susanoo.

Eto noticed immediately. She had been watching his vitals the entire time.

"You've done enough. Leave the rest to me."

Byakuya didn't argue. At this point, even lifting a finger was too much.

And they were still falling from the sky—straight into a sea of Dragon Orphans waiting below.

As they plummeted, Eto wrapped her arms around Byakuya.

And with a surge of energy, she entered her kakuja form mid-air — ready to protect them both.
