Enoch returned to the ward, and he caught Rebecca in a trance. He knocked his knuckle lightly on her head, then said in a sense of joke, "Back to Earth, sweetheart."
"You're back!" Snapped out of her daze, Rebecca forced a smile; her voice was laced with forced enthusiasm.
With the reaction she displayed, Enoch confirmed his assumption was correct. Something had happened in the short time he was gone. But it isn't the right moment to question Rebecca.
"Yes, I'm back! However, as I am seeing, you are not even paying attention to the door. No wonder Aleckin could easily approach you because you always lowered your guard," he said with fake irritation, which sounded playful, and that caused Rebecca to chuckle instead.
"I know... It's my vulnerability to my current condition. Besides, he is somewhat persistent in pestering me, which I find strange."
