"So... we are planning a wedding?" Cassandra asked, grinning from ear to ear.
Ella laughed softly. "No date has been set yet."
"Then set one."
Ella shook her head, amused. "Cass, it isn't that simple."
"Why not?" Cassandra asked, as though the answer were obvious. "In our family, the females are the boss." She winked at Ella.
Ella shook her head, amused. "That's interesting."
"It is." Cassandra shrugged.
Ella shook her head, still smiling. But after a moment, her expression softened. "I would have liked to have my father there."
Cassandra's smile faded slightly. Ella looked down at the ring on her finger. "He asked Alex if he could witness our wedding," she added quietly.
"He did?" Cassandra asked.
Ella nodded. "He asked Alex if he thought he'd be there to watch me walk down the aisle."
Cassandra was quiet for a moment. "Then we should hasten the wedding arrangements."
Ella glanced at her. "I'll have to speak with Alex about it before making any decision."
