Thursday soon arrived, it arrived sooner than Ella expected. Perhaps it was because she had been looking forward to the trip so much. She woke before her alarm, the excitement making it impossible to fall back asleep.
As she got ready, her thoughts wandered to the phone call she had shared with her father the previous night.
After many attempts of trying to reach him, he had finally picked up. Before she could make any complaint, her dad had apologized for missing her calls, claiming he had been asleep each time she called.
She wanted to believe him... she truly did. But something about his voice lingered in her mind. He had sounded exhausted. The weariness in his voice had lingered in her mind long after the call had ended. 'Maybe I'm just worrying too much,' she thought. "I will make sure he stops overworking." She murmured to herself.
