Chapter 2 - A Hybrid's Knowledge

One Week Later

Draven—formerly Daniel—lay in a cradle, staring at the ceiling of his new home with wide, crimson eyes.

White hair. Dark skin. Pointy ears. Red eyes.

And stuck in a baby's body.

> Damn… I still can't believe it. I was actually reborn as a baby.

I thought for sure I'd end up in hell, after the shit I pulled.

After those goddamn bastards killed me…

He scowled, or tried to. His face scrunched into what was probably just a cute, grumpy pout.

> ...Yeah. I guess I saw it coming. Still pisses me off, though.

No use being angry. I'm alive again, somehow. That's what matters.

Now, he was Draven—son of Kaelen and Elliana. But this was clearly not the Earth he once knew.

Everyone he'd seen so far had long, pointed ears. Except his mother, their skin was pale—unnaturally pale, like corpses.

> Elves? Vampires? Dark elves? The hell kind of fantasy novel did I get dumped into?

---

Ten Years Later

A decade passed in the blink of an eye.

Biologically, Draven was ten. Physically? He looked about five, thanks to the slow aging of elves.

He now sat in a vast library, surrounded by ancient tomes, deep in thought.

> Turns out, my father's a vampire king. My mother's a dark elf—also known as a Night Elf. And elves? Yeah, they live ridiculously long lives. Like ten-thousand-years long.

Vampires, on the other hand, are basically immortal—as long as no one manages to kill them.

He flipped a page lazily, continuing his internal monologue as he pieced together what he'd learned:

Vampire Classifications:

Low-Rank Vampires

Newly turned or weak-blooded.

Can reattach limbs and heal quickly.

Vulnerable to sunlight and most physical attacks.

Easy to kill.

Normal Vampires

Standard vampires.

Can regenerate from even severe injuries—even being cut in half.

Sunlight burns them to ash if exposed too long.

Can be killed by decapitation or a stake through the heart.

> Head and heart. Still the weak points, he noted.

High-Rank Vampires

Powerful, often in leadership roles.

Can regenerate fully, including the head.

Can withstand sunlight longer, though it still weakens them.

Can move their heart within their bodies to avoid being staked.

Harder to kill—only a pierced heart works… if you can find it.

Purebloods

Born vampires.

Rare and highly respected.

Can remove their hearts and hide them.

Sunlight only irritates them.

Truly immortal as long as their heart remains intact.

Royal Blood (Legendary)

The first vampire. A god-like being.

Said to regenerate even his heart.

Possesses divine powers, elemental control, and reality-bending blood magic.

Functionally immortal. More myth than monster.

> All vampires use blood magic, Draven mused. And all of them are freakishly strong.

And how do I know I read about it considering his Elven heritage.

---

Draven's Unique Bloodline

> With my mixed blood, things get... fucking complicated.

My mother's a dark elf—Night Elf. They use shadow magic. My father? The King of Vampires. Red eyes, black hair, skin like snow.

And me?

He sighed.

> Apparently, I don't have mana. No magical energy. Not even a spark. My parents say I was born without it.

But… something tells me that's not entirely true. I just haven't tried.

Still, he hadn't tested it. Why bother?

You can say it's just a speculation.

> I don't want to train. I don't want to fight. I just don't want to do shit

I just want to live an easy life.

>They is also other magic except from blood and shadow magic Elemental magic used by humans and spirit magic of the elven.

---

The World So Far

Elves hated humans. Humans enslaved elves. It was a mess.

Humans used elemental magic and holy magic—the latter blessed by the so-called "goddess."

The Holy Empire hunted anything non-human—especially vampires, who were seen as unholy demons.

> Funny thing is, vampires need blood to survive. Preferably human blood. Though, they can drink from other sources. Just a bunch of freaks with picky palates.

I don't need blood, thankfully. Perks of being half-elf, I guess.

He stared blankly at a ceiling carved with ancient runes, bored out of his mind.

> Man this world's a damn mess. Politics. Racism. Magic. Monster races. Gods. Empires.

And me? I'm just sittin' here—half-vamp, half-elf, no damn magic—posted up in a big-ass castle, readin' dusty-ass books like it's detention.

Bruh… I am so bored, I might start talkin' to the furniture.

But then he paused, reflecting. Despite the absurdity of it all...

His parents loved him. Truly. Deeply. Without condition.

> I didn't have that in my last life, he thought.

A rare, soft smile touched his lips.

> Guess i don't really give a shit if I'm a mixed-blood. Or not being able to use magic.

As long as I have this family... I'm good.

He leaned back in his chair, stretching like a lazy cat.

> Yeah. I'm gonna live this new life to the fullest…

...by doing absolutely nothing.
