Ben's gaze sharpened as he scanned the area.
Just as he expected, the slimes started emerging one by one.
They oozed out from around the strange plant and the nearby ground, gathering together.
This was not a plant that produced water.
It was a slime nest.
Now the eerie silence and strange atmosphere made sense.
This place was wrong.
"Retreat," Ben ordered without hesitation.
There was no point in fighting here.
There were too many of them.
He could spawn a hundred Krell Soldiers if he wanted, but against a whole nest of slimes, how many would survive?
It was not worth it.
They moved back until the nest was far behind them.
Only then did Ben stop and turn to look.
Nothing followed.
The forest was quiet again, only mushrooms in sight.
The other Krell were safe, except for the one being consumed inside the plant.
"What the hell are these slimes?
It's like some kind of nest… but why are they all clustered together?" Ben muttered.
