Seven-colored light blazed across the sky, washing the entire world in a surreal radiance.
For a brief moment, the capital of the Border Kingdom looked less like a city and more like a paradise descended from the heavens. The dazzling glow lingered over the streets, rooftops, and shattered battlefield, turning everything beneath it into a dreamlike landscape.
Ethan lay at the bottom of the crater, his eyes reflecting the same seven colors as the light above him. Everyone else had been blinded by the radiance. Only he could see clearly through it.

The backlash struck Thaddeus a moment later.
