Chapter 346 - 346: The Secret of the Naga Scale

"What a powerful condensation of magical energy… this is top-quality magical material! Unlike elemental energy, this is a power system I've never seen before!"

"Incredible! Absolutely incredible! What is this?"

Ryen smiled:

"The module we opened earlier is called the Twilight Forest and the Totem of resurrection."

"Totem of resurrection?"

Albedo thought for a moment, roughly understanding its function.

However, he didn't care much about resurrection—first, he had no one who needed reviving, and second…

He didn't dare study laws that violated the world's rules.

But the Twilight Forest…

Albedo pondered for a moment, then suddenly exclaimed:

"This is the origin of your Vampiric Staff!"

He spoke with a hint of caution.

Albedo had been concerned about the Vampiric Staff before. He had borrowed it for a day of research.

Ryen didn't know exactly what had happened, only that when Albedo returned it, there was even a trace of fear in his eyes.

According to Albedo, the scepter had accidentally been released in Teyvat, instantly draining four or five Hilichurls of their life force.

The Hilichurls died horrifically, but Ryen's condition remained exceptionally fine.

This had once caused Albedo a sense of guilt and an unspoken malicious dread.

Fortunately, Albedo had excellent control over his own mind, or things could have gone very wrong.

Albedo also advised Ryen not to let anyone else use the weapon, especially in Teyvat.

It was far too destructive, went against natural law, and could easily awaken people's darker impulses…

Since then, even though Albedo was curious about the Vampiric Staff and its life-draining power, he dared not think too deeply about it.

The Twilight Forest, however, was indeed something worth serious attention.

Ryen then took out the weapons he had crafted that afternoon—the Ice Sword, the Ice Bow, the Ender Bow, and so on.

"These weapons can all be mass-produced in the Twilight Forest. I shouldn't need to explain much more. You can take a look if you have time."

Albedo glanced over and quickly understood: weapons containing both ice elemental and spatial powers—definitely treasures worthy of deep study.

A blissful kind of problem washed over him.

Here, the alchemy research he longed for never stopped.

Albedo thoroughly enjoyed being absorbed in alchemy, but…

There were countless things to study, all things he eagerly wanted to research.

For a moment, he didn't even know where to start.

Shaking his head, Albedo turned his attention to the Naga scale.

He could sense that this item was far more powerful than the weapons.

"What material is this?"

"Naga scale," Ryen explained.

"It's a drop from one of the eleven ultimate monsters in the Twilight Forest. According to the notes, it's considered an intermediate magical material."

"But in that world, you can only make armor with weak effects. I feel it's a bit of a waste, so I wanted you to see if there's another way to utilize it."

Albedo nodded in agreement.

"Indeed, it's a waste. Forging equipment with this kind of material is the ultimate waste!"

"If you use alchemy to successfully modify it, this magical material becomes almost universal."

"You could forge artifacts with it, use it as a core energy source, or even directly grant someone elemental magic."

Fearing they might not understand, Albedo explained bluntly:

"Like Mr. Tartaglia's Delusion—if you modify it with this, it can completely replace the remnants of the Archon's power."

"No side effects, the power would increase dramatically, and it could even grant non-attribute elemental energy—or in other words, raw magical power. Barbatos should understand what this means."

"In short, the effect is extremely strong."

"Are you sure this is only an intermediate magical material? I've barely seen anything this powerful across all of Teyvat."

Everyone silently gasped. Even the previously unremarkable Naga scale now seemed incredibly enticing.

Who would have thought that something everyone ignored could become this powerful with just a bit of modification?

Diluc even considered reclaiming his Delusion and having Albedo help modify it.

Ryen shrugged and said softly:

"It really is an intermediate magical material. After all, Naga aren't that strong. Later, there are creatures like the Twilight Lich and the Snow Queen."

"Those are the truly top-tier monsters."

Albedo nodded and grew serious.

"In that case, I definitely need to see it in person."

"Can I keep this Naga scale here for now? Even though it's powerful, I haven't figured out exactly how to make full use of it yet."

Ryen smiled faintly:

"No rush. We obtained twelve Naga scales this time, and there will be more in the future."

"No need to treat them so cautiously."

Albedo smiled as well.

As an alchemist, it was his professional duty to maximize the potential of such top-tier magical materials.

Otherwise, even if the material could regenerate, wasting it would be proof of his own inferior alchemy skills.
