The practice session began slowly, and Lily followed the people, and then after five laps she began to overtake those before her. Then they all entered the paddock, when the host of the event stepped up and said, "Dear racers, the qualifying rounds are about to begin, and we have three heats, followed by a pre-final and then the final event. I wish you all the best, may the best racer wins."
Lily was in the tenth position at the moment, and she watched the stop-and-go of the qualifiers. The drivers moved out of the paddock at a gap of ten seconds. The ones with the lowest time in three laps would retire from the qualifiers and would have to start from the back of the grid when the race begins.
