The silence was broken now and then by the caw of a bird, the sun had begun to make its way westwards. Serena's cup had been long drained now, her gaze were on the empty streets that were slowly being filled by wolves.
"Oh dear, I think we should go look for Lady Brenna. She would be missing us…"
The way Aileen's voice dipped on the last sentence was now lost on Serena. The woman nodded and pushed her cup forward, she looked at the streets and back at Aileen again. This seemed to be the perfect time to soothe her aching curiosity.
"I am sure she is however," Serena said with a small groan. "My feet do hurt, I must have twisted when we rode here. I am not in a hurry."
Aileen opened her mouth to speak before Serena intercepted her with a breathy sigh. "I am so glad you were the one Brenna sent to keep me company, I would not have asked for a better host."
