{ Mia }
As soon as mom dropped me off at school something felt off.
I smirked walking towards my best friend Emma.
" Heyy, what's up? Why's everyone actinv so weird?" I asked raising and eyebrow in amusement.
" Well well well, looks like Mia has turned on detective mode." She joked laughing so hard her face turned red. " Don't tell me you're gonna spy on the new kid too?"
I gasped dramatically holding my chest. " What happened with the twins was different but.... Not saying won't do it tho. So could you tell me now ? What's up?"
" You always expect me to know everything don't you?" She smiled raising an eyebrow.
" Well don't you ?"
" Ugh, " she sighed dramatically. " Unfortunately I do... There's this new student he's —"
" A new student ?! In the middle of the year?" I asked a bit too loud drawing way too much attention.
" Y-yes..." She started happily. " He's cute too." she added, fluttering her lashes like she was in a teen rom-com.
I chuckled. " Love at first sight? Already?"
Before she could come up with a cheeky remark the bell rang .
" Okay miss love bird we need to head to science. Let's go before we get in trouble..." I laughed pulling her towards class while she just looked like a lovesick puppy.

~ in class~
" Okay class we have a new student here with us today I hope you all treat him well..." She sighed taking a deep breath." Please welcome... Enzo Rossi..."
Right on cue, some wannabe cool guy swaggered in, taking off his glasses like he was in a slow-motion movie scene.
' Is this the guy Emma was talking about?' I chuckled internally.
' He's just a wannabe ' cool guy ' '
I glanced at Emma and saw her almost about to faint.
' Seriously emma.' I thought shaking my head.
" Okay Enzo choose any open seat you like." The teacher gestured at all the empty seats stiffly.
Something felt... Off. Why were all the girls including the teacher swooning over him ?
I turned to the guy next to me and almost choked. He was as red as a tomato.
' Is he jealous?' I chuckled. ' I guess he noticed too. '
I snapped out of my thoughts as the chair beside me scraped loudly against the floor, making me look up-only to find Enzo, grinning like a fool.
Emma, sitting behind me, took a deep, shaky breath. I chuckled inwardly.
' what's wrong with you Emma.'
" Hey,"
A deep masculine voice rang through the air and the entire class fell silent.
I raised an eyebrow. "What do you want?" My voice was ice.
He froze, not knowing what to say. " Ummm... I-I just w—"
Before he could finish I spoke. " What? Are you used to everyone speaking to you like some sort of king ?" I snorted. " Well newsflash, you're nothing more than a piece of gum stuck under a shoe."
I chuckled as his face drained of all color.
" Mia!" The teacher shouted. " That's enough ! No one talk to my Enzo, um I mean to Enzo like that... Go the-the principal's office..." She watched me eyes narrowed I just smirked. " Your Enzo ?" I chuckled as her face turned pale.
" Now ! "
I chuckled shaking my head.
" Looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of bed..." I sighed raising an eyebrow.
" That's it!" The teacher shouted her face turning as red as a tomato. " Either you leave and go to the principal's office or I'll send you to the box..." I froze, my mask was about to slip.
'Not the box, not again...' I breathed heavily. My stomach dropped. Cold sweat trickled down my spine. The word hit me like a slap
' you have your powers now remember ?' Ash growled in my head.
' you don'tneed to be afraid... We'll get through this together!'
I sighed triumphantly. ' Ash is right! I can do this...'
I smirked standing my ground my breathing slowed and my shoulders relaxed. " You think you can scare me old lady ? I can speak how I want and when I want to your precious Enzo ."
In a moment the air turned as cold as ice and the entire class held it's breath.
Emma, face pale took a deep breath and stood up. " Ummm m-miss she didn't mean t-that she just —"
" Do you want to go the box too?" The teacher asked through gritted teeth.
Emma now trembling looked at Enzo then back at me. " I-If Mia goes..." She heasitated. " T-then I go too!" She exclaimed.
Loud gasps echoed through the room each student having the same reaction.
I just smirked. ' is this your way of standing out in front of your crush Emma? ' I chuckled internally. ' well, at least she's caring... I guess...'
The teacher, now seething looked at Emma with sharp eyes. " You dare talk back to me child ?!"
Enzo, the guy who started this spoke. " Miss, I'm pretty sure Mia didn't mean to say that, did you ? " He asked acting like an angel.
" Ha! ," I started. " You must be kidding, " I paused looking at Emma whose face turned pale while looking behind me. I swallowed my fear and checked and there she was Mrs. Cardona although she wanted to be called 'miss' was standing right behind me looking like a bull ready to attack.
Enzo chuckled, and I swear I would've wiped that smirk of his perfect little face if I could but Mrs. Cardona's grip was too strong and I couldn't use my powers, not yet...
" Excuse me Mrs.—"
Before I could finish her grip tightened and I winced. " Miss "she corrected loudly " Mrs makes me sound old." She continued insecurely.
' oh so that's the reason... I thought her husband died...' Ash chuckled in my head. ' she's insecure Mia, you can use it against her...'
' c'mon Ash I'm not that mean...' I replied though in my head I was already thinking of an escape plan.
{ Enzo }
There she was.
The sassiest girl I've ever seen—and I've met royals, heiresses, and full-grown mafia brats who thought they owned the world. But none of them looked at me the way she did. Like I was dirt on her shoes. Like I was just another arrogant idiot trying to win attention. And the worst part?
She wasn't wrong.
A smirk tugged at my lips as I sat down next to her. Mia, that's what they called her. Sharp tongue. Ice-cold stare. Fire in her voice. I could see why the teacher hated her—she probably couldn't control her.
But control… that's what I'm good at.
My uncle would love her. He'd see a girl like this as a challenge. Someone to crush, to bend, to break. He'd say, "A wolf doesn't ask the rabbit to kneel. It makes it."
But I'm not my uncle.
I don't need to break her the way he would. I can get inside her head. Quietly. Slowly. I'll make her trust me. I'll make her think I'm different. And then when she finally lets her guard down?
Boom. Game over.
The empire needs someone like me. Someone who knows how to play the long game. If I can bring Mia to her knees without laying a single hand on her, I'll prove I'm worthy of the Rossi name.
So I turned to her and said the simplest thing: "Hey."
Her eyes narrowed like knives. "What do you want?"
And in that moment, every dumb girl who ever swooned over me faded from memory. She didn't care about charm or looks or my carefully crafted smirk.
She wanted blood.
And now?
Now I want hers too. Just not in the way she thinks.
Not yet.
