Chapter 745 - Chapter 742: The Wind of a World

"Gate God?"

Dany could not hear the conversations of the demon gods on the other side of the Gate of Space and Time.

However, she could clearly sense that the Gate God was "looking" at her. She called out to him several times, but he never once responded.

This left her deeply confused.

Just as she was preparing to call for Big Black and let him fly fifty meters up — to where the spatial gate hung — to take a look, BOOOM!

The sky trembled violently. There was nothing visible, yet it was as if a missile had exploded overhead.

Moreover, the invisible missile seemed to be a two-dimensional object, detonating only along a single horizontal plane.

In Dany's line of sight, a tiny green dot suddenly appeared fifty meters above her, and in the next instant, a circular mirrored surface rapidly expanded outward from it.

On the plane of the mirror, both air and light seemed to split cleanly apart.

Dany had the distinct feeling that if someone placed a steel sword in that position, it would be cut in half like a blade slicing through tofu.

Yet she, standing below, did not feel even the faintest shockwave.

What shocked her even more was that through the mirror, a sky completely different from the Meereen Great Pyramid was visible: a dim firmament churned with black clouds, storms, hail, lightning nets, snow, sunlight, seawater, shadows… bizarre natural phenomena mixing together chaotically.

At the center of that maelstrom floated a dim green star, trembling unsteadily.

Strangely, she sensed a thought belonging to herself inside that star — as if…

As if it were a magical artifact that she had already refined, though she knew nothing about it.

Suddenly, Dany understood. This was exactly the sort of teleportation seen everywhere in fantasy novels.

A portal through space.

In this low-magic world, the technology of spatial gates had far surpassed the limits of her imagination.

Why would something so absurd even exist?

No — she was mistaken.

Wasn't the Gate God's Black Door already connected to spatial power?

Fat Sam had crossed the Black Door once, appearing beyond the Wall in an instant, over a dozen kilometers away from where he began.

Back then, Dany already suspected the Gate God understood the divine art of space and time.

She never expected that today he would open a portal spanning thousands of miles.

"Oh— that green star is the Gate God's divine kingdom." Dany came to a sudden realization, then her expression changed drastically — the Gate God's divine kingdom was the energy foundation of the Wall. If it appeared here instead, then the Wall…

"Daenerys, do not disappoint me." At that moment, the Gate God's weak voice drifted from the green star.

As soon as the thought was transmitted, the Gate God's mental presence vanished, disappearing completely from Dany's perception.

At that moment, he fell utterly silent.

"Hum… hum…" The portal rippled like water, trembling violently, while the dim star struggled, falling slowly toward Dany's side through the mirror.

"Hey! You wicked fiends, daring to steal my treasure!" Dany came to full awareness, then flared with fury.

The Gate God had given her his divine kingdom — and now a pack of evil gods sought to seize it.

Her left hand raised the massive fireball formed from Five-Dragon Flame. The five dragons stopped breathing fire and immediately shifted into Fivefold Dragon Spirit state.

Big Black donned his Warrior of the Seven Gods mantle.

Fivefold Dragon Spirit + Warrior + Soul-Slayer Strike + Sword God Divinity

"Get lost!" Dany's voice thundered like a storm.

Every demon god on the far side of the portal heard her shout, and each one struck by that voice felt a razor-sharp spiritual blade hacking into their minds.

Except for the three-eyed crow Bran and the White Walker King, who remained unmoved, all others — R'hllor, Storm Eye, Patch-Face, and the numerous shadowed dark gods — let out agonized cries.

"Aaaaargh!" Storms, ice, tsunamis, blazing sunlight, shadows and all manner of signs twisted wildly together, the divinities within roaring in fury.

"Teach her a lesson!"

"Let us kill her together!"

"A mere mortal dares profane true gods!"

While the evil gods howled in rage, the dim green star slipped free from their restraints and began accelerating toward the mirror.

"Do not!" Storm winds lashed toward it.

"We almost lost everything" The blazing sun shrouded the star.

"We can avenge blasphemy at any time. There is only one chance to seize a dead log's divine kingdom." Shadows stretched like tentacles to coil around it.

Dany was panicked. She did not know whether to hurl the fireball. What if she burned the Gate God's divine kingdom? What if she destroyed the portal? There were too many risks.

Instead, her eyes flashed with sword light, and one Soul-Slaying Sword after another cut outward.

Her attacks struck indiscriminately, locking automatically onto every conscious being beyond the gate.

Had the soul strikes been visible, Aemon and the others anxiously waiting on the stairs would have seen sword after sword of five colors launching endlessly from the Dragon Queen's eyes.

The blades bore streaks of black, green, white, red, and gold.

They even looked somewhat like the soaring blades in the film Kung Fu, the "Melancholy Melody."

The density of Dany's attacks exceeded even that of the deaf-and-blind brother duo.

The soul-slaying swords fell like pounding rain against demon minds, a storm of blades pattering like drops on banana leaves.

None of the demons could block — there was no Zhao clan martial artist with a "Five-Rod Octagonal Staff." Soul and sonic attacks could not be parried with physical weapons.

However, the demon gods had their own defenses. Except for the first ambush, which caught them unprepared, they soon recovered and displayed no signs of weakness.

The portal rippled harder and harder, nearly collapsing. Dany grew desperate. Her right hand lifted the fireball — ready to blow everything sky-high.

"Caw! Caw! Caw!" The three-eyed raven suddenly moved.

He had not joined the struggle for the green star before, merely standing aside while being shredded by the Dragon Queen's soul blades — somewhat innocently perhaps, but the situation was chaotic and Dany could not distinguish friend from foe. They were all enemies to her.

Now the raven finally acted. Three thousand ravens gathered together, assembling themselves like a swarm of drones forming a pattern, merging into one colossal raven.

A raven soaring over twenty meters tall.

"CAW— This is Westeros! All of you, get out!!!!"

To everyone's astonishment, the giant raven did not move to seize the star. Instead, it unleashed a devastating soul attack against all the evil gods.

BOOOOM!

The void seemed to erupt like the detonation of a tomahawk missile.

This was not Bran, but the Three-Eyed Raven. Bran had fused with a portion of the mark of the greenseer.

Relying on the soul-striking blow unleashed by three thousand ravens, he actually caused space and time to freeze for an instant.

All the wills of the demon gods became like insects trapped in amber, losing all sense of time.

But Daenerys on the opposite side was unaffected. She continued to fire off Soul-Extinguishing Swords with sharp "whoosh, whoosh" sounds.

Previously, the demon gods had consciously raised their defenses and were naturally unharmed. But at this moment, it was as if they had been struck by a spell of time stop, completely losing the ability to defend themselves.

With a series of "chi chi chi" sounds, in roughly the span of three breaths, Dingdangshan bled from all seven orifices and collapsed into the sea, his fate unknown.

The tornado exploded in place, and within the eye of the storm there was no longer any trace of the Storm God's consciousness.

The thin sun in the sky went dark. R'hllor roared angrily, "You two bitches, just you wait," and then withdrew unwillingly.

The shadows burst apart, revealing the terrifying forms of the dark demon gods within.

Their shapes were miserable as they left behind pools of foul blood that corroded the earth before slipping away into concealment.

In the blink of an eye, the once-bustling Eastern Sea Watch returned to calm.

After all, most of those evil gods were not实体 beings, but merely wills that interfered with the real world.

With no demon gods left to block it, the azure star streaked forward with a blue trail like a true meteor, passed through the spatial gate, and fell into Daenerys's brow.

It was as if it had always belonged to her and was now simply returning to its rightful owner.

Startled yet delighted, Daenerys saw that the spatial gate had not fully closed and tentatively called out, "Bran?"

"I am the Three-Eyed Raven of this generation. You may also call me Bran Stark." An awareness came from the Three-Eyed Raven.

The aura was very familiar.

Daenerys had the illusion that she was seeing Bloodraven Brynden once more.

However, the present Bran seemed to possess a little less of that inhuman quality compared to Brynden.

Well, Brynden was completely inhuman, whereas Bran seemed three parts human and seven parts inhuman.

"Why did you help me?" Daenerys asked curiously.

"You are the one chosen by the Mother Goddess." There was a hint of helplessness in Bran's cold words.

This was yet another story of flowers being set off by green leaves.

Without a doubt, Bran was very dissatisfied with the Gate God's choice.

He also did not have much affection for the Dragon Queen.

But if he had to choose between the Dragon Queen and R'hllor, the Drowned God, the Storm God, and the rest of those gods and demons, if he did not choose the Dragon Queen, who else could he choose?

Daenerys seemed to understand something and asked again, "What happened to the Wall?"

"It collapsed. Hurry and cross over."

Before he could finish the sentence, a white light flashed overhead and the spatial gate vanished.

"The Wall collapsed?" Daenerys stood there dumbfounded.

"Sigh, the Wall collapsed." The Gate God's voice suddenly echoed in her sea of consciousness.

"Gate God?" Daenerys was startled again. "You're not dead?"

"You should ask why I did not completely perish," the Gate God sighed. "I died eight thousand years ago. You saw it with your own eyes. Have you forgotten?"

"Just now, I thought you had already perished earlier."

"Do you think I wouldn't know my own limits? When I decided to give my divine kingdom to you, those demon gods would never be able to snatch it away no matter what." The Gate God spoke calmly.

"Then why did you pretend to be dead?" Daenerys asked in confusion.

"That was a test, just like the test I once gave you. If Bran Stark had stood by and watched as the evil gods seized your divine kingdom, I would have completely stripped him of the mark of the greenseer and transferred it to you instead," the Gate God said coldly.

Daenerys's expression at that moment was extremely complicated.

There was fear at the Gate God's deep scheming.

There was also regret over narrowly missing out on the mark of the greenseer. But then, a deep sense of shame arose. Clearly, Bran had helped her, yet she was now thinking about his treasure.

"Sigh, I always thought you were a simple wooden figure," Daenerys said with a bitter smile.

"I have listened to the affairs of the entire Westeros for tens of millions of years. Your long human history is only an insignificant fragment among my countless experiences.

I have seen more people and events than the number of grains of sand you have ever stepped on," the Gate God said.

Daenerys was stunned.

Indeed, what had the Gate God not seen?

"My time is running out. Stop dwelling on meaningless matters. If you have any questions, ask them quickly," the Gate God said wearily.

Daenerys pointed at the azure speck of light floating in her sea of consciousness and asked, "What is this?"

"The gods call it a divine kingdom, but…" The Gate God seemed to fall into reminiscence, his tone tinged with melancholy. "In truth, it is merely a treasury I built when I was young.

I like listening to the songs of the wind. Every wind that moved me was collected and stored in this treasury.

That is why the gods also call it 'The Wind of One World,' meaning the collection of all the winds that have ever existed in this world."

"Oh, so that's how it is." Daenerys recalled that when she had stepped through the Black Gate that day, she had indeed entered a world filled entirely with wind.

But at the time, her cultivation was limited. She had only distinguished the winds by the strength of their force and had not perceived the different songs carried by each one.

"The Wind of One World is practically a holy land for cultivating the Song of Wind!" she exclaimed.

"Yes. I once allowed eight subordinate gods to cultivate within the Wind of One World for a hundred thousand years. Afterward, they all became true gods." The Gate God's tone was calm, with not the slightest hint of boasting.

Yet within such plain words, there was an awe-inspiring sense of overwhelming dominance.

Perhaps this was the highest realm of showing off, Daenerys thought with a trace of admiration.
