Chapter 23 - Chapter 23

Chapter 23 Kakashi Treats!

What surprised Yoruha the most was still the growth of his Chakra.

His Chakra reserves were now already close to Kakashi's.

It had to be known that Kakashi's Chakra reserves were considered high even among Jonin.

The reason he often seemed short on Chakra in battle

was that he didn't have the Uchiha Clan bloodline, which made his body incompatible with the Sharingan. The Sharingan couldn't be turned off, so it drained Chakra constantly.

If not for the Sharingan's consumption, Kakashi's Chakra definitely wouldn't be inferior to that of ordinary Kage-level fighters.

At twelve years old, he had already been able to casually cast the B-rank ninjutsu "Earth Release: Earth Wall," and over a range of dozens of meters at that. The scale was enormous.

One could imagine just how vast his Chakra would be without the Sharingan.

And now Yoruha actually possessed Chakra reserves close to Kakashi's level.

What that growth in Chakra brought was a major increase in Yoruha's spiritual energy and physical strength.

After all, other people's Chakra was extracted from within their bodies.

Yoruha's Chakra was drawn from the natural world.

So the more Chakra he had, the more it nourished his body instead.

After all, the Chakra inside Yoruha was transformed from Natural Energy.

To withstand that much Chakra, his physical constitution had to be able to keep up.

"I wonder if it's just because this is the beginning, so my Chakra is growing quickly. Once the amount gets much larger, the growth rate probably won't stay this fast."

Yoruha felt that his Chakra was increasing so rapidly now because his foundation had been too poor, which meant his Chakra base had been very small.

But he wasn't thinking about the fact that his current Chakra reserves were already about the same as Kakashi's in his twenties.

And he was only twelve.

It should be known that even Naruto, not counting Kurama's Chakra, only had about as much Chakra as Kakashi.

And that was under the condition that the Fourth Hokage's Eight Trigrams Seal had been continuously converting the Chakra leaking out from Kurama into Naruto's own Chakra.

That made it obvious just how terrifying Yoruha's Chakra reserves had become.

The next day, after Yoruha and Kihon Toichi finished a D-rank mission, Kakashi was already waiting for him at the training ground.

Seeing Kakashi standing in a tree at the training ground with a book in hand,

Kihon Toichi was speechless.

"I have to say, you're way too impatient. Did you think I wouldn't let Yoruha go?"

Although he had already known Kakashi would be teaching Yoruha in the future,

he hadn't expected him to be this eager.

They had only just finished the mission, and he was already waiting at the training ground.

At this moment, Yamada Juki and Tanako Hon had already gone home.

Kihon Toichi had kept Yoruha behind because he had originally wanted to teach him some ninjutsu.

Though he wasn't good at combat, some interrogation techniques would still be useful if Yoruha learned them.

Who would have thought Kakashi wouldn't give him the chance at all.

Standing beside Kihon Toichi, Yoruha looked up at Kakashi in the tree, feeling a little awkward too.

Although he'd already known Kihon Toichi had agreed before,

with both teachers appearing at the same time now, he still had the feeling that he'd betrayed Kihon Toichi.

Kakashi put away the novel in his hand

and jumped down from the tree.

"It's just that I didn't take a mission today, so I have time."

"Let's go, Yoruha."

Kakashi walked up to Yoruha.

Yoruha glanced at Kihon Toichi.

Kakashi said calmly, "Your teacher already agreed, so don't worry."

Though Kihon Toichi felt somewhat helpless—he had still wanted to teach Yoruha a ninjutsu—

with Kakashi already here, all he could do was let Yoruha go.

He patted Yoruha on the shoulder. "Study well. This guy may look lazy, but he's genuinely very strong. In Konohagakure, aside from the Third Hokage, he's already the strongest ninja."

Since Tsunade and Jiraiya weren't in Konohagakure, there was nothing wrong with what Kihon Toichi said.

After saying that, Kihon Toichi turned and vanished from the spot.

He was afraid that if he stayed any longer, he wouldn't be able to stop himself from keeping Yoruha there.

Looking at the place where Kihon Toichi had disappeared, Yoruha sighed. "Teacher Toichi really thinks highly of Kakashi-sensei."

Kakashi smiled faintly. "He also hopes you can gain real strength soon and grow into a pillar that protects the village."

Taking the opportunity, Kakashi gave him a little lecture.

Yoruha didn't dislike it at all and nodded. "I probably won't disappoint him."

"Kakashi-sensei, didn't your team take a mission today?"

Kakashi nodded. "Mm. We only just finished one, so I let them rest for a while."

"Alright. Before training, I'll take you to eat first. You can't train well on an empty stomach."

Yoruha looked at Kakashi in surprise. "Kakashi-sensei, you're not planning to make me treat you, are you?"

Yoruha knew very well how stingy Kakashi was.

Kakashi froze for a moment. Seeing the astonished look on Yoruha's face,

he felt a little awkward.

Apparently Yoruha already knew about his miserly habits.

But he really hadn't been planning to make Yoruha pay.

"Why would you think that?"

"Come on. Naturally, I'm the one treating."

The corner of Yoruha's mouth twitched. "Hopefully."

Being treated wasn't a big deal, but Yoruha also lived off the inheritance his parents had left behind.

He had only just completed a D-rank mission himself, so he didn't have much money.

Still, since Kakashi was going to teach him ninjutsu, it really would have been only proper for him to pay if necessary.

Kakashi was helpless. "Is that really the kind of person I am in your eyes?"

Yoruha gave him a fake smile and walked off.

Soon, the two arrived at Ichiraku Ramen.

When Teuchi and Ayame saw Kakashi appear, they smiled. "Yo, Kakashi."

Kakashi was still quite famous in Konohagakure.

But after seeing Yoruha, Teuchi was a little surprised.

After all, Yoruha and Kakashi hadn't had much interaction before.

"Yoruha, what are you having today?"

Ayame didn't think much of it. When she saw Yoruha come in, she leaned against the counter and asked with a smile.

Yoruha smiled back. "One bowl of tonkotsu ramen for me."

Kakashi sat down beside Yoruha. "Is one bowl enough?"

Yoruha nodded.

Because Yoruha didn't extract Chakra from his body, he didn't need to replenish bodily energy through food.

Kakashi looked skeptical.

"We're about to do some brutal training. One bowl of ramen won't be enough."

"No need. One bowl is enough."

Yoruha knew his own situation very well.

But Kakashi still said to Teuchi, "Add two more for him. Three bowls of tonkotsu ramen, and three bowls of beef ramen for me."

Kakashi knew very well how much the upcoming training would consume, and he felt Yoruha simply didn't understand.

Though Yoruha was helpless, he could only silently accept it.

After all, there was no way he could explain that he didn't rely on extracting bodily energy to maintain his Chakra.

But this exchange between Kakashi and Yoruha left Teuchi beside them utterly stunned.

He could tell that Kakashi treated Yoruha differently from everyone else—almost like a father treating his own child.

But the two of them had clearly had almost no contact before.

He truly couldn't make sense of it.

Still, Teuchi also understood that a ninja's affairs were not something he should ask about.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to keep this shop open for decades without going under.
