Chapter 406 - Chapter 406: The Capture of Giratina

The Distortion World was host to a humiliating scene.

The one who ruled this realm, the Renegade Pokémon—Giratina, found itself surrounded on all sides. The gods of Time and Space, existing beyond dimensions, had cornered it within its own home.

Giratina looked left, then right. No matter how it calculated, there seemed to be no way out.

If this were the real world, it could have simply slipped into the Distortion World and vanished, leaving Akari and Paul unable to pursue.

But now? They had chased it all the way back to its lair.

Here, Giratina could unleash its full power. And yet—when Time and Space, normally opposed chose to cooperate—even it was no match.

The last time, it had been driven off by the combined assault of Dialga and Palkia.

This time, they weren't even working together. And still, it couldn't defeat Palkia alone.

"This is bad…!"

A rare thought of despair crossed Giratina's mind.

"Why aren't you running anymore?"

Akari's eyes gleamed as she watched it with a playful smile, almost eager to see how Giratina might counterattack in desperation.

But Giratina didn't glance her way. After a long silence, the entire Distortion World trembled. Floating stone platforms all across the void suddenly lurched, hurtling straight toward Akari and Palkia.

"Pointless. Spacial Rend."

Akari's voice was calm, yet almost dismissive.

Palkia's body blazed with radiant light. Dozens of blades of space tore forth from its wings, each slash dividing whatever it touched into two. Stone after stone, platform after platform, split cleanly in half, dissolving into the void.

The attack was repelled. But Giratina wasn't finished.

From Paul's side, both Dialga and Mewtwo suddenly stiffened. Their eyes sharpened at once.

"That sneaky brat—going for a cheap shot!"

The shadows of the Distortion World surged like a living sea. Giratina melded into them, and from every direction a ghostly draconic shapes emerged—spectral avatars lunging straight toward Dialga.

Each phantom was solid, fangs and claws ready to rend. But the real Giratina was hidden somewhere among them.

"There."

Mewtwo's aura pulsed. Its psychic perception pinpointed the true body instantly. With a thought, it erected psychic barriers, blocking every phantom but one—leaving only the path where the real Giratina lurked.

"Roar of Time!"

At Paul's command, Dialga threw its head back, unleashing a deafening roar. From its iron-like neck burst a surge of temporal energy, rippling like a hammer through reality itself.

The shadows shredded instantly. Time itself convulsed, and Giratina was ripped from concealment, forced back into the open.

"ROOOOOAR!"

Its pained bellow shook the cavernous void. But before it could recover, Palkia was already upon it.

"Spacial Rend!"

The god of space swung mercilessly, and another blade of spatial energy cleaved straight toward Giratina.

BOOM!!

The explosion echoed through the Distortion World, light and shadow colliding in a storm that threatened to tear the realm apart.

Super effective!

With a thunderous crash, Giratina's massive body was sent hurtling hundreds of meters through the Distortion World, shattering countless floating landmasses before finally grinding to a halt.

From the maw of Palkia, a blazing sphere of energy erupted, scattering into a Draco Meteor that rained down toward Giratina like a collapsing constellation.

The Renegade Pokémon stirred, instincts urging it to slip back into the shadows. But to its horror, it realized the space around it had already been locked—cut off completely. There was no retreat into shadow this time. All it could do was watch as the meteor storm descended upon it.

"BOOM!!"

The explosion lit up the dark abyss like fireworks—brief, radiant, and breathtaking—painting the desolate world in fleeting brilliance.

But for Giratina, caught in the epicenter, there was no beauty—only staggering pain. Its consciousness wavered, its colossal form collapsing under the weight of the attack.

At that precise moment, a Poké Ball arced from Akari's hand, striking Giratina's weakened body and pulling it inside in a flash of red light.

"Ding… ding… ding… click!"

After three desperate shakes, the ball stilled. Suspended in the broken void, it drifted back into Akari's waiting hand.

"Heh… Giratina, you're mine now!" Akari laughed, her grin is wide with triumph.

"Since we're here, let's take a closer look at this ruined world." said Paul, his voice was cool, though his eyes betrayed his curiosity as they swept across the distorted landscape.

"Empty and endless… aside from these floating fragments, it's just cold darkness and silence. Honestly? I don't like it much." Akari's earlier excitement faded as she glanced around.

"This place—the so-called Distortion World or Reverse World—is the underside of reality. The living world is vibrant and full of life, but here… there's only eternal solitude."

"It looks completely shattered." Akari mused softly. "So Giratina… it's the only one here?"

"Not exactly." Paul replied. "According to legend, even Giratina isn't native. It was banished here by Arceus itself."

"Banished…" Akari whispered, realization dawning. "No wonder it carries so much bitterness. To live here alone for ages… anyone's temper would sour."

Her gaze softened. Lifting the Poké Ball, she spoke gently, almost like a promise:

"It's alright, Giratina. From now on, you won't be alone—we'll be with you."

The button on the Poké Ball flickered faintly red, as though Giratina itself had answered.

Their mission was completed, Akari and Paul soared across the shattered realm atop Palkia and Dialga. After wandering for what felt like hours, wearied by the world's oppressive stillness and chaos, they finally departed.

And so, the Distortion World fell into an even deeper silence. For the first time in its existence, it was without its master.
