Chapter 95 - Star Faller

Unable to corrupt and possess the mortals of this universe anymore, the Valghuli are left without a physical form to continue fighting and the throne room immediately goes quiet.

You then walk over to the edge of the tower and look out over the kingdom to see that Izael and Nahzgor's armies are slowly pushing the invading cultists back and securing the kingdom's borders once again.

Aatu steps up, standing beside you and you see him use his power to restore the kingdom's border wall to its original state before it was destroyed. He speaks to you in an optimistic tone as you both watch the allied forces wipe out the remaining red robed cultists and Tarragons that are inside the kingdom's walls, making it safe for the people of Moriarch to leave the castle and take back their kingdom again.

" On behalf of all of my father's creation, I want to thank you, Abbadon. You have proven here tonight that it is possible to defeat The None's forces. Even if we do not succeed against The None himself in the coming confrontation, I have no doubt that The Battle of Moriarch will be remembered across the Omniverse for eternity as the time that we won. "

You look over at Aatu with a smile and nod your head in acknowledgment before Reylesh instantly comes bursting into the throne room wearing a skimpy suit of black armor.

" DID WE JUST WIN?! "

She shouts in disbelief as she approaches you and the rest of the Gods.

" The battle is won, but this war is not yet over. Ultimately, this struggle remains one that will rage on for eternity unless Abbadon can defeat The None once and for all. "

Izael remarks as he walks closer to you and looks at you with a supportive stare.

" He's the only one who can do it, and he's our father's last resort. "

" So what's our plan then? We may have defeated those Valghuli, but if The None's Exemplars reach Aria, then this world is finished and our victory here will be meaningless. "

Nahzgor inquires in a concerned demeanor.

" Our plan is to intercept them and take the fight away from Aria. I will teleport us to impede their path within this universe so we can split them up and handle them separately before Abbadon fights The None. "

Aatu answers in a serious tone before looking at Reylesh and Faerah.

" Sisters. Valanyah is the weakest of the Exemplars, so it would be the most advantageous for us if the both of you handle her. I know that Faerah isn't a fighter, but as long as she's there for support, you shouldn't have to worry about Valanyah overpowering you. "

Faerah nods her head with a soft smile, but Reylesh is obviously uncomfortable as she asks Aatu a question with uncertainty.

" What if I can't beat her? I felt how strong she was back when we were fighting in Voldoor and she was clearly holding back for her own amusement. She didn't even consider me a threat and could've effortlessly killed me if she wanted to. I hate to admit this, Aatu, but I'm scared… scared that my all won't be enough to beat her, even if I do have Faerah's help. "

Aatu gives his little sister a brotherly gaze as he walks up to her and holds her hands in front of him. Aatu looks down into her eyes with admiration as he answers her.

" You have every right to be worried… but I believe in you. You'd be surprised what Faerah is capable of despite her vow of abstinence from battle. With this new power that Abbadon has granted us, I would like to think that this fight will be alot closer than you think it will be. You're strong too, Reylesh. Do not let your fears defeat you before your fight even begins. "

Reylesh blushes as she looks up at her older brother and nods subtly, obviously enchanted by her brother's kind words. Faerah then approaches and stands next to her sister with a confident stare before speaking to her.

" I got your back, sis. We can do this. "

Reylesh's worrisome demeanor instantly fades and she gives Faerah a smile before Aatu turns his attention towards his brothers next.

" Izael. Nahzgor. You two will be fighting Vaktash because he's the most powerful of the three Exemplars. He's large and very strong, but do not forget that it is his voice that makes him the most formidable. His words can bend any course of events to his will, and I'm still not exactly sure how his power works. Fighting him will push the boundaries of what you both are capable of, but if you work together, I think there is a somewhat decent possibility of you both emerging victorious. "

" Ha! There is no better adversary for me to unleash my full power against! I am satisfied with this decision, brother, and I am sure that Izael and I will make you proud! "

Nahzgor replies arrogantly before Izael interjects with his own opinion.

" It would be wise to not underestimate Vaktash, brother. I have seen what he is capable of. Even Tom and Abbadon were not exempt from the power of his voice, and he didn't even have to engage them physically to stop them. I am certain that this fight will be our most difficult yet, and one misstep may very well lead to our demise. "

Nahzgor immediately looks back at Izael and you expect him to respond to his brother arrogantly, but to your surprise, Nahzgor replies with an uncharacteristic humbleness that feels strange and unfamiliar.

" You don't need to worry, brother. I understand that this battle could be our last and I will ensure that my ego does not affect the outcome of this fight. We will do this together, the right way. "

Izael smiles as he holds out his arm towards Nahzgor and they give each other a forearm handshake before pulling each other close and patting each other on the back.

" What about Verzo? He's the leader of their little trio and I'm sure that fighting him will be no easy feat as well. "

Reylesh asks before Aatu turns around and answers her.

" Leave him to me. His incantations are powerful enough to erase anything and everything that they touch from existence, but my powers combined with Abbadon's should give me an edge. With all three of the Exemplars occupied, we should be able to give Abbadon an opportunity to take on The None without them interfering. "

Aatu then diverts his attention towards you.

" This may be the last time that you see us again, Abbadon. Is there anything you'd like to say to us before I take us where we are needed? "

You immediately think about Mimi, who's standing next to you, and you ask Aatu a question.

" What about Mimi? Is she going to be safe? "

Faerah looks at you adoringly as she answers your question, admiring the fact that you care about Mimi the way you do.

" My faeries will take her to Havnahm where she'll stay with her parents during these confrontations. Since my faeries don't have a physical form and they're more like spirits, they will be able to take her to Havnahm using their allurement without having to use a portal. "

Hearing this, you take a deep breath and get down on one knee in front of Mimi, pausing emotionally before you speak to her at her eye level.

" Mimi… "

Mimi looks at you with a hesitant smile as she talks to you.

" It's okay, Star Faller… I'll be waiting for you with Mama and Papa after your fight is over. When you come back to see us, you can teach me how to be super strong just like you so I can help people like you do. "

You think about what The Absolute said about you potentially not surviving the encounter with Uphedis, and the thought of you not coming back to Mimi makes your eyes water. Still, you choke back the tears as you respond to her, knowing that these words spoken to her may be your last.

" Yeah… I'll teach you whatever you want to learn after this is all over… Thank you Mimi, for sticking with me through all of this. You have a heart of gold and I'm so very happy that I was able to share this adventure with you. I'm sure your parents are going to be blown away with all of the stories you'll tell them about everything that's happened… "

Mimi steps forward and gives you a hug before responding with gratitude.

" No, Star Faller, thank you for saving me. "

Tears begin running down your face as you hold Mimi close to you with your chin on her shoulder, and once Mimi steps back and you stand back up, you think of one last thing.

" Mimi, here… I have something for you. "

You say as you pull The Holy Omniverse Transcript out of your robes and open it gently. The pages softly turn as if they're blowing in the wind as you begin to materialize an ornate Rosium katana that's identical to the one that her father had made for her in Ishville before closing the book, putting the it back in your robes and holding the sword out for Mimi to take.

Mimi is awestruck with the gift that you just made for her and she takes it, looking at it in her small hands with disbelief.

" Woah… "

She says before looking up at you.

" I know that your home was destroyed and you lost the chance to get the sword that your father had Hugo make for you, so I wanted to at least give you this. It's made of Rosium, and it's the only one in existence. I'm proud of you, and one day when you're older and able to take care of yourself, I was thinking you can use this to fulfill your dream of helping people and fighting for the ones who can't protect themselves. "

Mimi immediately hugs you again tightly, burying her face in your stomach while holding the sword in her hand.

" Thank you so much… "

She says before you notice that all of the Gods standing around you are looking at you and Mimi with a heartfelt glint in their eyes. Aatu then asks you a question after Mimi's done hugging you and steps away.

" Are you ready, Abbadon? "

You take a deep breath and wipe the tears from your eyes as you look back at him with a determined glare and answer.

" Ready as I'll ever be… "
