Varon arrived home still reeling from his recent discovery. He went straight to the top of the stairs, to the very spot where he had sat with Xander.
The half-empty wine bottle remained where he'd left it. He snatched it up, took a long gulp, and headed inside with the intent to pack his things and leave immediately.
Pushing open his bedroom door, he was met with a mildly startling sight. His usual single candle was now joined by a hundred others, arranged in a dazzling display of light. The room glowed, illuminating a clean, white bed laid with sheets that were a stark contrast to his usual gray ones.
And there, in the center of it all, was Coral. Her hair fanned out behind her, a seductive smile on her face. She was naked beneath the sheets. One did need to be told.
"Hello," she purred, her voice the softest whisper. "I have been waiting for you to get back home."
