Shem POV (Real World)
'Getting shot hurts so fucking much!' Shem thought while scouring his leg, feeling for the wound.
'Why is it taking so long to find?' His hands still grasping around, unable to find even a trace of blood.
Slowly, Shem opened his eyes after a while, the pain having dissipated to a dull throb.
'There's no blood!'
'I'm going to live!'
Dopamine rushed to his brain, instantaneously he let out a small chuckle that grew louder. It started slow and small like how he would laugh to his parent's jokes but slowly grew maniacal.
"Shem, are you alright?" Lorey asked in a worried tone.
Shem's laugh halted but a small smile remained plastered on his face.
Shem felt nothing but exhilaration, 'I'm okay and Lorey is okay!'
"Yeah I'm good!"
Lorey looked at him with a skeptical expression for a few moments before opening her mouth again.
"Let's get mov-"
A gunshot rang out, interrupting Lorey mid sentence. Chills ran down his spine as he realized he was not out of the woods just yet but only just entered. His mind grew distracted from how he survived the gunshot and survival once again easily surfaced to the fore-front of his mind, not having hidden itself away too well as to hinder his instincts.
Shem jumped to his feet, disrupting Lorey from her stupor. "Let's move." He said, finishing the intended message from Lorey. Leaving sounded easy, but with himself standing up and choosing a direction being the next step, the task grew more and more daunting as Shem thought about where to exit.
'We probably shouldn't go back towards the food area cause A LOT of people, most with guns will be there.
The entrance is also out as an option as there were and probably still are soldiers there.
We could go towards the washrooms or in the random direction that we have no information on.'
Still thinking about it Shem looked at Lorey for ideas as she seemed to be thinking about the same dilemma but all Lorey did was shrug when Shem asked.
Because Lorey had no ideas and with time becoming a larger issue Shem had to think outside the box, and soon enough he got an idea.
'Well, since we are in a tent the walls aren't really walls, so we can just go under them or lift them up!'
Telling Lorey his brilliant, amazing, and perfect idea in his opinion, Lorey also suggested to head in between the washrooms and entrance because less people will be there.
With both of them agreeing to the plan and gunshots starting to become part of the background noise, Shem looked left and right before crossing the roundabout, many would call this action pointless, but to him it was habit.
'You never know when you will get hit with a car,' he said internally, arguing like a lawyer to the imaginary judgement of others, or Lorey, who knows?
