Bernard's voice reverberated from the speakers of the plane, the loud ding just before waking everyone who was asleep up from their sleep, which was only Pauline's parents.
They had been flying for ten hours straight now, and the feeling of the planet turning around and slowly descending to the ground felt incredibly relieving—especially for Bella.
It wasn't so much the nausea, or not being able to sleep because of it, that made her feel miserable, no. She was comfortable for most of the flight. After all, her seat could practically turn into a bed with one push of a button.
What made her extremely uncomfortable was her mother.
"Ah, Jesus. Please, take away the devil that is inside my daughter."
Her mother's palm was completely covering her forehead, pinning her entire head to the seat while forcing her to chew some sort of ginger candy.
