Wanxin smiled lightly in response, pulling Su Yao back to the table to sit down.
She acted calm and indifferent, as if she had never received that phone call at all. This left Su Yao temporarily at a loss on how to continue probing the matter, and Lu Ci had even less ground to pry further.
After finishing their meal, Wanxin bid them farewell and walked back to her office.
Su Yao stood at the restaurant entrance, squinting as she watched Wanxin's figure gradually disappear into the distance.
She felt that it was a bit strange.
Su Yao was still pondering over that phone call, recalling Wanxin's expression and tone while on the phone. She couldn't pinpoint the feeling, but something was definitely off.
"Guess who made that call to Wanwan?"
Just as Su Yao was deep in thought, Lu Ci suddenly spoke up next to her, startling her.
Su Yao turned to look at Lu Ci, only to see him wearing a playful smile: "It must have been a man."
