Ian was amused. All this while he had not expected Dariel to say such a thing to him. He did not think that Dariel would play the role of a watchful father that truly cared about the wellbeing of his family.
"I am surprised Duke Dariel, I am very surprised," Ian said.
"You should not be, your highness. Above everything, I am her father and if you hurt her, I do not care if you will be king, I will make sure you regret it whatever you did." Dariel was dead serious about his words.
This was what surprised Ian exceedingly, he did not seem to be the sort of man who would do such a thing.
"And for my curiosity sake, what exactly would you do to make me regret?" Ian crossed his arms.
"That should be left for the day you dare to do that, which I hope for your sake never comes.".
Ian chuckled, Dariel was truly amusing, "Well, you have nothing to worry about Duke Dariel, I am not a tyrant, neither would I be a bad husband. Your daughter will be safe with me, I assure you.".
