Running had its limits, especially when being chased by two enraged monsters with nearly endless stamina and both Alden and Aemirya understood that well.
Although they had managed to maintain some distance, they both knew one thing.
They couldn't keep running forever.
Especially Alden.
Unlike Aemirya, he was completely human or at least that's what his body suggested since he didn't know if his parents were humans.
He had been running nonstop for the last hour and his exhausted muscles were finally catching up to him. If he pushed himself any further, not only would they be caught, but by then he would be too tired to even attempt a fight.
"What should we do?"
He asked Aemirya, who was still fuming about the whole situation.
"How the hell did you even manage to make them work together? They are prideful enough to tear each other apart, and yet they are working together… you must have done something truly terrible."
Alden thought back on his situation for a moment.
