Chapter 14 - Chapter 12 Restored

Odetta commanded attention as she sat confidently in her office, her tender fingers tapping on the chair's armrest.

She wore a stunning mini black suit dress with long sleeves that hugged her curves like a glove. The dress one of her own designs, accentuated her striking tatto on her cleavage, just below her collarbone. Her dark brown hair was tied back in a sleek ponytail, showcasing her heart-shaped face and hazel eyes.

Her expensive diamond necklace and earrings glittered around her neck and ears, adding a touch of sophistication to her already elegant ensemble. On her feet, she wore a pair of black stiletto heels with a golden touch at the pointy tip.

Seated before the gathering of men and women, Odetta's intense gaze and furrowed brows conveyed her authority and concern. Her fashion empire was on the brink of collapse. The reason: financial struggles.

The room fell silent as she began to speak, her voice steady but laced with determination. "Ladies and gentlemen, I know our financial reports haven't been optimistic. We've faced significant losses and our investors are eager to sell."

She paused, surveying the room. "But I refuse to let my legacy fall into the wrong hands. I need an investor, someone who believes in my vision and is willing to take a risk."

Odetta's thoughts drifted to her dwindling wealth. Once considered rich, she now faced financial uncertainty. Her pride stung, but she knew she had to act.

"I've explored options, but I require someone with deep pockets and faith in our brand. Any suggestions?"

The room erupted into a cacophony of ideas and concerns.

....

Later that day, Odetta arrived at Cass mansion, her heels clicked as she entered.

A timid maid greeted her, but Odetta's focus was on finding Cass.

"Where's your boss?"

"He…he's busy, madam." The maid replied.

Odetta's eyes narrowed. "I want to speak with him. Call him here."

The maid hesitated, shaking her head. "He's really busy..He'll k…"

Her expression turned impatient. "Well, call him. I don't have all day."

The maid looked nervous, and just as she was about to respond, Cass voice echoed from upstairs. "What's going on?"

The maid's eye widened in fear, and she quickly scurried away.

Odetta's eyes followed the maid, then turned back to the stairs as Cass appeared at the top, dressed in all black. His piercing blue eyes sparkled like the deepest ocean, and his smooth, tan skin seemed to glow in the light.

Odetta's anger melted away, she felt a flutter in her chest as she saw him. He looked breathtaking in his white attire, his jaw clenched as he cleaned something on his hand. She shook her head, reminding herself that she hadn't come here to be distracted by his good looks.

As Cass' began to descend the stairs, Odetta's eyes followed him, mesmerized by his elegance.

When he reached the bottom of the stairs, he walked towards her, his eyes locked onto hers.

As he approached her, Odetta's breath hitched. He was dangerously close, hovering above her small frame.

"When were you planning to tell me that you're a witch." She knew she sounded crazy, or was she crazy? Had what happened yesterday driven her to the brink of insanity.

His expression turned from seriousness to amusement. "What are you talking about?" He said, fighting the urge to laugh.

"I know what I saw," Odetta continued, her voice rising. "I remember everything. You lied to me about falling off the bike. Why did you have guns with you? Why were we being chased?"

His expression turned serious once again, and he opened his mouth to speak. But Odetta cut him off.

"How did you fight so well, and how did you survive being shot?"

His eyes locked onto Odetta's, but he remained silent. "And then it was as if you were trying to…to put a spell on me. What are you Cassiano? A witch or wizard or something?"

Cass raised an eyebrow. "I don't know what you're talking about."

Her eyes searched Cass' face for answers, and for a moment, she thought she saw something flicker in his eyes. Something that looked almost…..dark.

But then it was gone, and his expression turned to normal.

"Are…are you trying to erase all my memories?" Suddenly, she clutched her head and screamed, overcome by a splitting headache. Cass reached out to help her, but she pushed him away.

"What's wrong?" He asked, concern etched on his face.

But Odetta didn't respond instead, she turned and ran out of the house, leaving Cass staring after her in confusion.

"Something isn't right," he said to himself. "This has never happened before."

Cass dialed his brother's number, the only one who would probably have an idea about what happened.

Immediately, his brother Cass picked up the call. Cass could hear him shouting at the other end of the line, barking orders and raining curses.

Cass sighed. Well, that's Emanuele for you.

"What the fuck are you still doing in America when our brother's wedding is around the corner?" Emanuele asked, his Italian accent thick and rich.

Cass rolled his eyes, knowing Emanuele would kill him if he dared to do so in front of him.

"Sei fortunato a non essere qui adesso, strontium." (You're lucky you're not here right now, fucker)." Emanuele said, as if he knew Cass had rolled his eyes. "Ti avrei cavato gli occhi." (I would've gauged your eyes out).

Cass chuckled, "I called you for a reason, fratello." (Brother). "I have a situation here. Something…unprecended happened."

Emanuele's tone turned serious. "What is it?"

Cass hesitated, unsure how to explain. "A memory was altered. But somehow, it was restored."

Emanuele's silence was palpable. "That's impossible," he said finally. "Are you sure?"
